Yeah every time I read white dwarf and it says in the editorial "the greatest mini magazine/manufacturer/painters etc in the world" I have an uncontrollable urge to wipe my arse with it. Yet again it's a condition.

Epic collection dude. It's the only place the missus will let you display them, eh? To my wife, displaying my "toys" is equivalent to putting a Neon Saint Paulie's Girl beer sign above the mantle.

So to clear things up what is the warrior priest guy called so I can get the right one. Or is it warrior priest.

I know! They're such a customer focused bending over backwards to help out the little guy company, I mean the kilo or so of plastic there for $1359.25 such a good deal.......for the share holders.

Hmm a trip to two hobby stores and nada one anywhere. So does anyone have an extra they might consider doing a mini swap with me?

Diggy, see conversation above about cheap metal warrior priest sculpts on EBay.

Do you guys like how they reworked the GW site? Part of me likes how I can just check mark the Lords and Heroes and it shows me all of them for every faction. I'm not too big on their ranked guys anymore. And again, I pray that FW continues their line of Wsrhammer Forge stuff.

I like it, but I pooped my pants at the prices. I had no idea it was that bad. I really did think people were just being babies online again. They can't possibly sustain this business model can they?

Yes it is robbery. Conversely, awhile back I believe it was DR that pointed me to HassleFree for their simply awesome customer service and great prices. What is $4 at HF is $20 at GW. But I'd like to take this opportunity to point out just how awesome their CS truly is. I ordered a mini from them. I guess it was late, but I never noticed this. Well, when it arrived from Merry Old England about 2 weeks later, they included a free mini. And this mini matched my interests from my other purchase, they didn't just pick a cheap one. I then checked my email to discover that they had sent about 5 correspondences explaining where my product was. Simply amazing service, and I am going to make sure I buy both minis and other supplies through them from now on. I can only suggest the same to others.

Remains to be seen.

GW's stockprice has bounced back form the last half year report, that was pretty bad, and they have announced a 20p dividend.

But, the real indicator will be the yearly report that should be out soon.

The last half year report indicated a quite substantial drop in customers, a drop not covered up by the usual price increases.

But a single 15 point gun for the new Orks, cost 28£, so they are still busy reducing the amount of potential customers.

At some point, the mas of GW fanboys will reach such a small critical mass, that the company will implode from the lack of new players, since finding some one to play with will become too difficult.

Not one little bit!

Not me either.

it is a bland and soulless webstore.

It is funny though to open the site and be met with an add for a bundle in the 250£ + scale, that gives nada in the way of discounts.

As an example of why GW's pricing has reached a point of absurdity, and why they are ultimately going to fail fast at this point, let's look at an example:

Da Gunmob - $377
• 41 infantry (of which 20 are snotlings)
• 4 Gunz

For almost the same money ($368) with Warlord Games you get:
• Full-Color Hardback Rulebook
• 139 Infantry models
• 4 vehicles
• 4 guns
• Two plastic buildings

This is from buying the Assault on Normandy, 1,000 pt. American and 1,000 point German armies.

So you spend less money, get a TON more, and have two complete armies and rules for an entirely new game for less than a few guns and some models (basically you get a rulebook, 98 more infantry, 4 vehicles and plastic terrain more than GW).

DR, as a General in the Anti-GW League, your distaste for all things GW is on another level. Of course you hate it!!! ;)

You're the best, old man....
No, no I don't hate GW, PER SE.
My distaste is for the treatment that the company has blatantly dealt out to it's customers solely to make a profit on behalf of Corporate Financial Investors and the blinkered roughshod back turning behaviour towards the hobby in general.
25 years ago when I wandered back into model painting GW stocked other manufacturers, like Ral Partha, in fact one of my Ral Partha Dragons was purchased at the Store in Preston.
A long history, yes, a disappointment in what they've become also yes!
Knowing what they could be and what they could do as a Hobby Orientated Business, Saddens me so much!

sorry for this. but shares don't reflect the actual profits or capital of the company. they´re just speculative bets from the share holders. which is why the stock of a company like gw could go down 25% on the market in a day, without anything happened irl. so the share holders are not the winners if gw profit, company owners and direct investors are.

that said, the new gw webpage is just horrible. and i don't like the new gw at all. less hobby, more playthings. on the other hand, it all leaves me hopeful that forge world will get a bigger role with display minis, and that some other type of competition will take over golden demons previously respected role.

yes, they have forsaken their roots, it appears. What just drives me absolutely bonkers is their strict denial of all things not GW. If I played, I would probably do it in a GW store, but if I want to make my unit of barbarians look cooler by adding some non-GW minis into their ranks, I shouldn't be told to remove the minis or myself from the store. They get waaay over zealous with this too. I saw this GW clone tell a man he couldn't use a certain mini because the flock wasn't GW.

And then they charge outrageous amounts for their literature, which is the worst crime. To play with Chaos Dwarfs at my local GW, you have to show up with a copy of the Throne of Chaos book. I believe it's like $90. I pirated it and put it on my Kindle. The clone wouldn't let me use this, even though she has no way of telling if it is a legitimate copy or not. Because it could be pirated, she denies the use of Ebooks. I promptly took my business elsewhere.

GW fears the competition, because they are forecasting their own demise.
