I am a huge fan of the man\'s work... I think I have his \'naturalistic\' style down, but I need to get more of one color on another, my lines are still way too clean.Originally posted by Beelzebrush

On the other hand, the column that \'article\' appears in is more of a \'rant\' corner for people to air their veiws. That means that wasn\'t an article at all, just a \'letter to the editor\' type fare. I love bashing GW as much as the next guy, but I think this attack is a little misplaced.
If allowing people to voice different opinions in their mag is wrong, then we might as well stop posting in these forums. The fact that this \'letter\' has had an entire thread dedicated to it and that several people have mentioned wanting to \'see the article\' I think GW has pulled off another brilliant PR stunt. Get people talking... in the words of a famous Hollywood agent, \"There\'s no such thing as bad publicity\".
Suckers.
As far as models go, ALL companies have good and bad. GW have produced several very nice wood elf models, and Reaper has produced some real dogs (no, seriously... they\'ve come out with the \'hound\' mini). Privateer Press has taken to piracy and has lost their original touch... several pieces of fluff, including the Names of two different units, have been stolen directly from Blizzard (WoW, Diablo, Starcraft). Inspiration and ingenuity only last so long... TWO of their new units are called \'witches\', and splitting their resources yet again with a third line of products doesn\'t bode well for a company that is already notorious for their incredibly SLOW release schedule.
I\'m not taking shots here, I\'m a fan of both Reaper and PP, but in the last two months or so most of what I\'ve seen coming out has been mediocre at best, and I\'m talking about ALL of the mini companies here.
Or am I becoming jaded? Perhaps I\'ve been here too long and great looking models are looking \'average\' to me?
Who knows... who cares? Just keeping painting the way YOU like and F#$k everyone else.
@mattsterbenz - Your Gandalf was incredible and the light sourcing was amazing, the fact that GW included it as a reference for a well executed technique in last month\'s WD should tell you how highly they think of your work.
