Hi Ming-Hua, yes, I\'ve been quite busy travelling and working, so I wasn\'t exactly active on CMoN. :)

Like you, I\'m looking forward to the DVD version. Hopefully it will make more sense. But as I said, it\'s virtually impossible for me to say that I didn\'t like the movie, since, well, it\'s Star Wars :)

A second opinion..

I took my 12 year old over the weekend. I did preview the movie opening night and thought is was something he could handle, but every child is different. I liked the movie but did not think it was great, like Margo said I too am a Star Wars fan but no where did I see these movies come anywhere close to the original three in my opinion. I posted this and was told that these movies were awesome, spectacular,etc, so I decided maybe a needed a second look too. My opinion is still the same, good but not great, poor acting woven together by great scenes filled with eye candy. Wondering if it was just me, I asked my son when we were driving home. He too felt it was slow in parts, and didn\'t flow like the first series did. Yes he liked it too but it wasn\'t something he was crazy about. Yes this is the same child that begged me to see several of the LOTR movies over and over at IMAX. He just didn\'t seemed thrilled. Again, I am glad i took him and that I saw it as well, just wish it could have been a little closer to the quality established by the first series.

Did anyone else notice that near the end of the Revenge of the Sith, when the emperor and Darth Vader are gazing at the building of the Death Star, the Imperial Officer next to them was none other than Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing). Quite a feat, since he\'s been dead since 1994. He did have a bit of a \'digital\' feel to him, but it was still a very cool touch.

Yes I did notice that about the Death Star scene, but I couldn\'t help but wonder if the original construction took about 18 years ( the amount of time for Luke and Leia to grow up) since it was just coming operational in A New Hope. If this is the case, then by Return of the Jedi, the Empire must have hired a better contactor since the Death Star 2 went up almost overnight.

Personally I didn\'t care for the movie at all, and my three little ones got kind of bored with it to tell the truth - the little one telling me his \'eyes hurt\' from all the CGI.

The acting to be truthful, was subpar at best and yes, although we all \'knew\' what was going to happen in the movie ending more or less, I have to say it was a disapointment to me in general. The whole \'robot humor\' was idiotic in the extreme and about the only real \'acting\' or feeling that I got out of the whole movie was towards the end with Obi Wan\'s rant/rage at Aniken.

It\'ll sell well, it\'ll make the billions in products, but I think the original three were much better.

Are you sure? I thought the figure looked a lot *like* Peter Cushing, but didn\'t think it was actually him. Though I suppose with digital tech these days it could indeed have been him.

@ those who thought the acting was bad: I thought the acting wasn\'t what was bad, it was the dialog they had to mouth. It\'s got to be hard to act a character convincingly when you have to say ridiculous lines like \"Hold me like you did when we were at the lake country\".

But I liked it anyway. Like Margo says, it\'s Star Wars.

I do belive that it took 21 years to make the 1st Death Star. As for the secnond one could assume that they had twice the personel and twice the resources.

Along the Death Star thing... i always thought the death star was built really quick, but it took forever to get the giant lazer beem working.

Vibrating lightsabers: Dude, go to Burger King... they have vibrating Han Solos *the ladies begin drewling*

No, I really don\'t think it was him, or even digitally inserted film clips of him. I do think it was an entire CGI character base to look like him though...

I thought it was a great Star-Wars movie (especially compared to the previous two). Only problem I had with it was that it had (to quote Jack Nicholson on ROTK): \"Too many endings, man!\" They tried to connect everything to the fourth movie, but they could\'ve left something open (like the name of Leia).

What I really want to know, did General Grievous seem familiar to any of you? (think Necron!)

It\'s the best of the prequels by a long way but Empire is still the daddy;)

I agree with the comment about obi wan raging at anakin, it actually looked like acting rather than reading lines.

I thought it was fantastic but lacking a bit emotion.
There was no \"I am your father\"
or no \"let me look at you with my own eyes\"

Fair enough Lucas isnt the best of writers but I think the main problem was Christiansens crap acting.He was better than before but even Mcgregor couldnt carry him in the final scenes.
The main point of the film was Anakins decent to the dark side but allas I dont think he was up to it.

Just heard on the news that a 20 yr old man and 17 yr old woman are in hospital after creating their own lightsabers.

They filled glass tubes with fuel and lit them then had a fight in woods and filmed it. I\'d love to see that video, smartest idea ever:idea:

Or we could assume they started it before they finished the first one.
Of course I have to wonder why it took the rebellion 21 years to catch on and steal the plans.

What was the deal with that General Grievous? Was he a droid? Or a human? Maybe they salvaged what was left of Darth Maul??
