I\'ve thought long and hard about responding to this thread, because like a number of other people
I\'m sick and tired of the \"Lynch-Mob\" mentality whenever GW does something someone dislikes.
If you look at the blister packs that are being removed off shelf they are all low turnaround on sales. If you were running a business, could you afford to have dead stock in a shop?
Take the Valten figure, issued to run in conjunction with the \"Storm of Chaos\" campaign.
Ok that was
2 years ago and you can only have 1 of him in any Empire army. So sales are going to drop and it\'s a logical step for any company to reduce \'dead\' sales space to allow greater capacity for newer stock.
It\'s the same for the rest of the items being removed, they are not being destroyed only taken out of a shop in order that the managers can meet their projected sales figures. So what\'s the big deal!
Much as I have criticised GW in the past and discussed their percieved failings with the managers (outside of the store for courtesy) I can thoroughly understand a commercially based business decision such as this.
Slagging off GW is all too easy as they are a big target, but despite their faults they have brought the Gaming/Hobby industry up to the level that we enjoy today.
So for those people who state that they
want GW to fail, take a good look at the hobby and just think what the implications to the painting commission businesses would be.
