Paint Aid and the fun begins

Going really well.

One thing is confusing me though and that is the talk about paypal fees.
When I sell something for say £10 paypal take their cut and I actually get say £9.

So surely the money raised will be the amount AFTER paypal take their cut ??

Well its sits at US $2,476.00 with 7 days and 20+ hours left. :wow:

Does anyone want to take bets as to the final price? I will say somewhere between $5,000.00 and $10,000. I hope that I am wrong and it goes way over $10,000.

100 watchers that is the highest I have seen yet :D

@klute here is the scoop

eBay Community Seller, 100% donation
When an eBay user lists an item through Giving Works and donates 100% of the final sale price to a nonprofit:
The donation amount = donation percent X final sale price; OR $10 (whichever is greater).

MissionFish deducts $3 + 2.9% from the donation

The seller is responsible for all eBay and PayPal fees

eBay will donate their insertion and final value fees to the nonprofit if the item sells

Also the terms are...
Payments for the item are due the second Monday after the auction ends or they collect the money from my credit card I have on file.

There is a flow chart of how it goes this takes you to the main page
under the sellers area they have a Tab called \"How it works\"

http://www.missionfish.org/About/howitworks.jsp/

But the short and sweet auction ends,I get paid paypal fees out,I ship product then I have to pay mission fish they pull out their fees and hold till the refund time is up then they send the money to the charity and give tax receipt to buyer.

Pay Pal percentages are the worry for me
I have the
Standard Rate Merchant Rate (qualification required)
Monthly Received Payment
(USD) $0.00 USD-$3,000.00 USD Fees per transaction (USD) 2.9% + $0.30

$3,000.01 USD-$10,000.00 USD USD 2.5% + $0.30

$10,000.01 USD-$100,000.00 USD > USD 2.2% + $0.30 USD

$100,000.00 USD
1.9% + $0.30 USD

Flat fee will be charged as follows: $0.30 USD for payments in U.S. Dollars, $0.55 CAD for Canadian Dollar, ¥40 JPY for Yen, £0.20 GBP for Pound Sterling, €0.35 EUR for Euro, $0.40 AUD for Australian Dollar.

Fees for receiving eCheck payments will not exceed $5.00 USD per transaction. eBay sellers can also choose to offer promotional financing terms on PayPal Buyer Credit funded purchases for an additional fee.

And so my worry and yes indeed I knew the pitfalls of listing but as I mentioned to DR I will need to plea for help in the forum... I have an inability to cover large amounts if it were not going so high I would keep quiet and pay it off in payments but... I am sorry I am not wealthy then I would not have to even mention it :(

Thanks for stepping up to the plate, think we should wait and see where it will be at the end and I hope others will help as well but even if it is just us it is much less daunting to me...Thank you:D
My guess hummmm... We have so many large players a 102 watching
no I do not want to limit it positive thinking 14,000 ???

As they say in Poker....

\"I\'m all in.\"

No more bling to give to the bidding after this.

And I officially hope I don\'t win it at this point.....Mrs. Wheels will kill me.
Hopefully, Mrs. Finn and Mrs. Supervike will be happy under such circumstances....

Seriously, best of luck to all who bid.

Dumb question....Is this army on CMON as an artist\'s entry ? If not, will it be ?

It\'s not at tyhe moment but possibly it may get posted up.
I created an account = Paint Aid Army in order to have a thread showing all the pictiures as the figures came in.
I can use that Account to list up the pictures if people are happy with that.

Nice to see the army up on CMON. I thought it was going under a new account called Paintaid army though? Surely it shouldn\'t be under any one person\'s account as so many people took part ???

Good luck with the auction :D

Ello stranger!

I don\'t think it really matters which e-bay account its under, as long as the money is paid over to the charity. (And of course as long as someone buys it :D)

I\'m just glad to see it up and running

Greetings girlie :D

Yes I agree however....... my comment was in relation to a CMON account - the army was painted by lots of people so therefore the scores it achieves should be on a generic account for the army and not any single persons.

Hi Tracy
It was the middle of the night and I was tired when a valid point was made. I had credits to spend. I do not plan to keep it in my gallery.
EDIT Maybe this could work
How about anyone who wants to link their gallery to the auction
The more that do the more exposure it gets !
