Are you not reading the current Superman arc by him and Brian Azzarello? It\'s quite good. And his Batman work recently was damned fine.

Thank Crom this thread finally got hijacked so we can get away from any arguments that were starting with the original topic lol

What took so long? lol

There would be a task for someone with way too much time on their hands - figuring out the average number of posts to a thread before hijacking occurs...

or maybe should I take a foreign language course? lol

If you take this section of the thread seriously for a moment it actually says a great deal about us. In the majority of the English population speaking another European language is not common. I can read French far better than I can speak it and that is not saying much. Perhaps we should be considering that while we have access to online translators we should use them to comment in the original language (However twisted they come out!) as well as English.

Or am I being far too sensible for a Sunday Afternoon. ;)

I understand your reasoning, but it ain\'t gonna happen. Firstly it would be hugely discriminatory and secondly, you have to take into account the awesome minis posted here by our, French/Russian/Polish/Italian/Spanish colleagues. If you want to be an airline pilot, you have to learn English. I think it would be a bit harsh to apply the same criteria to minipainting.:D

Believe me, no one is more incovenienced by foreign language comments than me...:flip: But they are here to stay, unless serious abuse occurs, because I can\'t translate all of them..:D

well, I don\'t agree with that. The sole reason for placing a comment is to be read, what\'s the point in placing comments the painter can\'t read?

I\'d be more than happy to place comments babelfished in french, italian or spanish if the post in question would mention the fact that they can\'t understand english, I think having to hunt down translation programmes/sites is not only the responsability of the painter, but also of the one placing comment...

ofcoure, the biggest problem with other languages is that if the painter can\'t read the comments, and neither can the mods, who is to know if the comment is abusive?

The simplest solution for a lot of European Languages is an online translator like this one:
http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html
Well it allowed me to wish Tammy :Gelukkige verjaardag. (Back in April)

@Tammy: Ik kan u als dochter goedgekeurd hebben, maar u nog wordt geen zakgeld. ;)

Cut and paste is the easist way to go and it can help us to learn. OK the translator isn\'t perfect. But you can get the core meaning out of a comment.
So far I\'ve used it to put comments up into Italian French and Russian. (and I havn\'t cause a war yet! - - Except with Tammy of course ;) )

Woo-Hooo!

Just got online after a day in which I hadn\'t offended anyone and DR tells me I offended him!

I can sleep soundly tonight ;)

PS I\'m guilty of loads of the stuff listed on here, now I can offend without even trying :D

I always did anyway?....erm... woo-hoo!

Okey dokey...

I think I have avoided this one until now...:D

First...Nothing shold be banned apart from extreme, mindless insults.

So this is a more of a, \'what ticks me off most\'....?

In comments...\"Hey! No way is this an X.X\"

God, that\'s doing my head in.....:duh: I see this and, then dutifully wait for the picture to unload, to see yet another turd gilded in acrylic effluent:D

I want to scream, \"NO!!! It\'s worth a hell of a lot less!!\" but fortunately the \'moderate comments\' faclity does not have that function...:D

Sorry for pulling this one back to the top of the page, but I couldn\'t think of any phrases that really grate my carrot, then I went to one of the other forums I frequent and found this one again.

\"Just my two cents\"

or

\"Just my $0.02\"

Why do people feel the need to put this on comments, obviously it\'s their opinion otherwise why would they be writing anything.

How about:

\"Barkel, you\'re a mindless t*t. If you\'d drop off the earth everyone would be happier.\"

Am I the only one who hates that?

\"in retrospect, viewing that particular pewter model sculpt of a scaled down fictional orc character, I find that the overall greenness of the skin adds an air of believabilty to an otherwise fantastical situation. And furthermore, I suggest that the orc character is indeed a metaphor for the dark side of the human experience, lending credibility to the fact that indeed man is inherently evil\"
I disagree. I believe Tolkein\'s orcs were supposed to symbolize what man could become if stripped of his ability to appreciate beauty and the natural world. They represent the possibility that industrialization and urbanization could create a race of cruel, ignorant beings who had never seen the sun or a flower. Tolkein believed evil surroundings made men evil.

Oh wait, um... on topic:

\"Please don\'t vote me down for the photo\", underneath a blurry monstrosity that could be Brother-Captain Arglebarglius, or possibly a dead lemur on a stick. How can I vote *up* something I can\'t see?
