I really like this setup, similar to what I have but on a larger scale. My wifey would probably like that better than what I have now as well. The only problem would be a spot for my legs, isn\'t it difficult with no spot for your legs? If you pull out that try, seems like you\'d be hunched over a lot.

Sometimes, Crooked Eye. When I\'m building (they tray is out) I can work over it more naturally. When I paint, I\'m closer and my knees do have a tendancy to knock against the edge. I usually put my feet up on the bottom ledge - that and take frequent breaks to rest my back. lol

Thanks Amazon. It was a compromise between me and my wife. I wanted to have all of my stuff available and out at all times and she didn\'t want to see any of it. I saw a similar setup online (I don\'t remember where)and causually mentioned it to my wife one day. \"Hey, wouldn\'t this be neat? Too bad they\'re so expensive...\" Two weeks later we were doing some furniture shopping for (I forget what now) and she goes \"Hey, let\'s look at computer hutches and see if there\'s anything on sale\".

There was and now it\'s mine!

It\'s nice when things work out like that. I suspect that my bf and I will go through a similar process if we ever start living together. It\'s not that he\'s opposed to the hobby as such (hell, he introduced me to it), but he\'s made quite a few sarky comments about finding minis in the bed when he comes to visit. Which, I hasten to add, he never has! Um, found minis in my bed. He\'s managed to visit a few times now.

I\'m just going to be a gentleman and leave this one alone!;)

As I am graduating from University this semester, I can finally look forward to some spare cash and that means a laptop to replace my ancient desktop setup! I can\'t wait, my computer desk will suddenly become empty and work as a proper painting desk! Trying to do both at the same time doesn\'t work... especially with a pair of 19\" LCD screens taking up all the room.

My rack of paints will still sit on my massive subwoofer, which is conveniently within arms reach of the computer/painting desk :)

No problem. I think it\' was around $200. We got it in the \"scratch and dent\" section. You can see the \"damage\" if you know where to look - I thought it was funy since it blends in with the distressed wood motif going on with the rest of the piece, it\'s almost unnoticable.

The thing that I\'m trying to figger out is why most have the computer sharing the same space as your paint/modeling area? I\'d be afraid to break something up when I\'m on the computer and distracted by the computer when I\'m painting. Plus all the junk that from drilling and cut getting into your computer, eeppp!

Suki, how supporting is that key tray? IE can you cut on it without it flexing or threating to pull the whole lot down on your head.

Okay, now that\'s just obscene. You need to immediately put some debris on top and scattered around. Sheesh! :D

I was a little leary at firs tabout this too but it is pretty stable. Doesn\'t even shake when I\'m sawing big pieces or pressing hard to cut through the thicker pieces of plasticard.
