EMO
Limited aged persons view.
Not rappers, not opera..Pants do not fall from body, not really Fianna like either shirts cover somewhat more breast area.
EMO take pictures with close ups as a rage: just eye shots. Softer style than many but not with a herd type mentality. young restless searching like many of any age or hormonally challenged.
We tease Ipaintminis of being EMO cause mom and one young son enjoy rap and she does not. She pokes fun at our taste we try to explain the poetry but.....she is not receptive and would rather not cuss. Paint has a State winning voice and sings in more languages than I can I am not going to convince her to convert. I believe she is better off .
We do not live in a large enough city to really find a large order of sub culture. A mosh pit here is when the social security checks come out at the beginning of the month and you are fighting the aged in the grocery aisle for cart passage. you tend to get tossed around a bit.

hehehehe....i can\'t stand kids claiming to be individuals, but hopelessly wearing a uniform to fit in with a certain sub culture, claiming it\'s a way of life, but i guess it\'s part of going through puberty, and i remember how i was back then. don\'t worry kids, you\'ll grow out of it, right about the time when you have to go and work for a living.**youth of today...grmblgrmbl...**;)

Me, well, if you HAVE to label me, it\'s psychobilly, but most people would just drop the billy part, since I don\'t sport a 50\'s style hairdo, and ...well....i\'m told I am psycho....:(

i don\'t do the \'i\'m an individual\' thing. The clothes i wear do not make me, and i\'ll happily swap between styles to suit the situation.

You go ipaintmini\'s, if hating rap makes you EMO then I\'m EMO all the way.

While earlier 80\'s rap might be considered poetry, todays modern \"Gangta\" rap merely forgot the \"c\" in front of the word rap.

But then again, I think one of the best bands ever was Fleetwood Mac.

What a fun thread. It\'s kinda cool to put faces to some of the regulars in the forum.

I\'ll have to get a photo of myself posted here soon (but first need to shave...been doing exams all week, and I look like hell).

So, before I get my pic up, any guesses as to what I look like? ;)

emo phillips...

Very underated comedian IMHO!

I believe he helped write the Ben Stiller movie Meet the Parents, but it is his one liners and stand up that make him so damn funny...

He is a semi-regular on a morning radio show I listen to, and he is just as funny off the cuff as he is with his material....

Sorry, my latin is a bit rusty:D

Emo sure is underated. Most people in the UK would probably not have heard of him which is a shame:~(

My favourite quote, apart from my current sig, is this one:

I love to go down to the schoolyard and watch all the little children jump up and down and run around yelling and screaming...They don\'t know I\'m only using blanks. -- Emo Phillips

Brushlicker and Freak!
Hmmm, it is kind of interesting how people trying not to conform end up conforming anyway.

Its like when I go to a rock club and everyone is wearing black, I mean where is the individuality in that? ???

My friends went to a goth/industrial night once in tie die neon t-shirts and jeans with trainers and shades, it was hilarious, especially watching the goths trying to work out WTF we were doing (we clearly knew all the music, but we were HAPPY! What was all that about?) :D

Another friend was being hasselled by some kids in town for being goth, he turned round to them and said \"I\'m not goth, I\'m F***ING industrial\" Well it was funny at the time...

I find I never quite fit in (at school I was the token rocker in a year of Goths), but I\'m pretty good at social sidewinding and fitting in in my own odd way.

No wonder I didn\'t know what EMO was... I never fit anywhere in high school. I was \"too cool\" for the Nerds, too \"nerdy\" for the Freaks, too \"freak\" for the Preps, too \"punk\" for the Kickers, and too \"Polish\" for the racially diverse groups.

But I got along with them all for some strange reason...lol

Of course my mom hated the way I dressed. She would have put me in IZOD if she could have *shudder*:|~

@col kurtz

That looks like something my husband would want. Does it hook into a computer through midi? (Seriously, he just bought a Yamaha Keytar on Ebay).

This is me in may -04. It\'s a very cold swedish spring evening, but I\'m at a small music festival in Stockholm and have probably had a few beers so I\'m pretty ok with it.

edit: hm, it\'s not working. I\'ll try to fix it...
