How was attendance this year? I know a couple of exhibitors cancelled at the last minute due to the travel chaos, but were there enough locals to make up the difference?
Overall I'd say that the show was on a par with the last few years in terms of traders/exhibitors.
Punter attendance.....well that was a differing matter as the "Q" Buster ticket was extermely large, streching a good 100 - 200 metres and into another hall where it doubled and tripled back on itself a few times.
I'd suggest that trade was pretty good in most cases, especially
"Boutique" traders like the
McVey's and
Smart Max where
quality of product stands out.
As always there were traders there doing a "roaring trade" for army deals, the likes of Warlord etc
Forgeworld
as always did good trade, running out of both the show figure and the pre-release of Warhammer Ancients Version 2.
As for me well I had "cherry picked" what I wanted prior to the show, and was very 'cautious money wise" until I spoke to Ali McVey who fluttered her eyes, smiled and very kindly and incredibly quickly emptied my wallet. Such a temptress....Thank you so very very very much Ali. I owe you a Large Coffee(*) if you get to IMP.
Definitley for me Value for Money and I have to flag for special attention the customer consideration shown by several traders, Black Scorpion, Smart Max, Alkemy, Hasslefree, Heresy, Freebooter, Wayland Games (who looked exhausted at the end of the show) and Sphere Wars. They get special mention for the treatment they provided to Tim (freakinacage) holding a really nice "Gribbly not-so-Mini" to one side while I held his shopping bag as he sprinted (
no joke) to the ATM to get additional cash to pay for it.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Boristfrog WAS in Girl clothes, for a very special reason............
It was her Birthday.
(* every time I meet Ali she's always running on high levels of Caffine, while Mike is just sooo laid back.)
