You saw Ducky?! Damn, I had started to think he dropped off the face of the earth (or just got stuck in IKEA with his mom) ;). (Oooh... damn that was evil... and funnier the better you know him.)

Cap Hill is fairly central, but I can\'t think of anywhere to meet that we could paint. There\'s definitely booku places that we could meet for coffee/drinks/food, though.

@ Drake: you almost snuck that post in while I was replying... The reds there look very nice, and the blue cloak is pretty nice, too. The inside of the helmet looks a little weird, as do the skully things on the ground (part of this could be camera, though). Make sure to bring that guy, I wanna seem him in person.

Yep...Six Degrees of Seperation from Aron Anderson. I think it should be a play or something. I\'m actually supposed to call him later today. Weirdness.

Oh, not that it looks bad. I think a big part of it is the camera. I know that I struggle to get decent pics of OSL type effects, and since I haven\'t managed to get any good ones, I haven\'t posted anything. About 99% of the time, things look a lot better in person than they do in the photos. ;)

Oh yeah thats true. I think it looks better in real life. But then I may be a little biased. :D

I also need to get some better photo editing software.

Ya know, I haven\'t even tried to take pics of any minis yet. I\'ve only finished four of them or so in the past month with another two that are just about done and two that are totally WIP. Thing is, I\'m not sure if my sister\'s camera will work for macro shots. I haven\'t even tried it yet.

But yeah, let\'s totally take a look at that mini on Saturday if you can make it Jeremy.

..and here I was thinking \"what the heck is OSL?\"...figured it out...I should\'ve been able to guess earlier from my work in theatre design. Duh.

Like the mini Drake. Especially like the red, though I\'m at a loss to really explain why beyond the fact that I like the tone to it.

Anyways, looks like my work day is finally done. Hope to see folks tomorrow! I\'m off to start my weekend!

:flip:

As for photo editing, I use the GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulation Program) all the time, and it\'s damn powerful. Basically equivalent to Photoshop for the most part. The best part is that it\'s available for most platforms (Unixes, Linux, Macs, and Windows) for free.

Since I spend most of my time in Linux, it\'s nice to have the same app around on those occasions when I boot into Windows to play Dawn of War. ;)

You can get more info (and download) about GIMP here: http://www.gimp.org.

No spyware of any kind with the GIMP. Bugs, maybe a few, but not any more than you\'d have with commercial software anyways. ;)

Remember... Open Source Software (like GIMP, Linux, etc.) is not the same as Shareware; for some reason, a lot of people think the two are the same thing. They\'re not; Shareware is much much closer to regular commercial software (which, in fact, it is... just cheap software), but it\'s still \"closed source\".

Anyway, I won\'t ramble about software stuff, because I could go on for hours, possibly days. ;)

Too bad you couldn\'t make it up, Drake, but I think that we may try to make regular meetings. As soon as I find someplace reliable and reasonable, I\'ll post something here.

Then move on up here! I\'m willing to bet we have more stores here with nifty clothes for ya. :D

It was way cool meeting ya Anthony. Should be good times when we start getting a group together and taking a look at WIPs and such. Too bad you couldn\'t make it Jeremy, but I\'m totally down for motivating a meeting sometime in the future again. Like I said before (I think, my memory is fading), I have far too few people I know who I can sit down and geek about painting with. Gaming...well I have people who I can geek about gaming coming out of my ears.

We can all get together and laugh at each other\'s wereshark models next! lol

Likewise, Ethan.

It is good to have a couple of people that paint as well to hang out with. Like Ethan and probably a lot of others here, I\'ve got gaming geek buddies aplenty. Not any of them paint, though, so I don\'t get to geek out about that except online.

I still haven\'t found a decent location for a painting meeting--one where we could sit and paint for a bit. Meeting up and BSing about painting is easy; there\'s any number of coffee shops in this town.

I\'m open to ideas on venue and schedule...

Hey guys if you ever get tired of meeting on the wet side opps I mean West side, give me a shout, you could road trip to the Tri-Cities! Its only a couple of hours away, and sunny!:D
I would love to see some of your work in person, plus I want to see Tweening, I still just dont get exactly what you are supose to do!:D
Gin

Agreed, I too can geek out with all sorts of gamming buddies. Painting is something completly different.

Hmm... as for the venue, not a clue. I only go to 2 shops, 1 has no game room and the other (Game Wizards) I am not sure if it has a room that could be used for paintng.

@ Gin It may be wet over here, but at least its not brown. :D Winters are nicer as well. :D

Drake, I was raised on Vashon Island, lived in Tacoma for a couple of years, did some time in the south, Texas, ya know I really kind of like it here, today the sky is blue, the sun is out.. of course I can\'t step out side with out being blown away by the 30 mph winds! lol
I do miss the Green from over there!
Gin.
I wish there were someone on this side that paints, I don\'t know ANYONE here who games or paints!
