Your paintjob looks awesome in the official Arena Rex pic, Johannes. Like 10 said already, those blues really bring a lot of interest to the shadows. You've also got a lovely sort of translucent effect on the skin. Looking really nice!

Mr bullfrog thank you for the orruk compliments . I think your talkung about my ork from dennis soul . he actually has a thread in the forumns and he is one of the best sculptors when it comes to "true anatomy" sculpts. His ratios and what not are perfectly identical to form with a fantasy twist merged in to make his sculpts truly unique to what these beasts would look like. It means so much as I take pride in green skins, flesh and metals. I'm always picking models that have each one of them or all of them. I'm very simole although I'm meaning to break out of my zone but for comp purposes it's always the same greens, flesh or weathered rusted/ dirty metals. For example I'm not adept at all when it comes to tan skin, female or Afro American type flesh colors, but I plan to delve into these in the near future.

The Arena Rex photos certainly do show off that fantastic skin tone well. Not sure if I ever noticed it in your original photos or if your light source is slightly yellower so the blues got overshadowed.

This is always how I explain it. I NEVER photoshop my models... It's simply because I do not know how. So when you see my Lil guys on the screen that's a generalized photo and then when it makes its way to crystal bush and comps like arena rex it is a whole new wonder as they photoshop the shit out of the finalists. Jen Haley has a Lil Asian lad. Very smart and very proficient at that part of the contest . Me and Janet saw him as he was explaining it to us he spent 10 minutes alone putting deeper purple shadows under a busts eyes. It's really amazing that its that in depth or at least how they do it. Basically it evens up all the models to fabulous photos so its tough to pick which is a better paintjob. Fair ....Definitlet cause they all get that treatment. Unfair would be doing it in some and not the others so I'm cool with that. It's always something to look forward to.

The Blood Bowl guys keep getting better and the AR photo looks sweet. Gotta say the squad did look awesome in person, too bad they didn't take photos of the other two guys, but I get they were looking for single minis.

Yes, I think I WILL repaint my Imperial Ogres to see if I can pull off a paint job as sweet as yours. I don't want to copy them outright but just use them as inspiration. The faces might be hard as they are painted with oils though. They need a new paint job anyway after my daughter threw them on the ground in a tantrum. At least a hundred hours of work gone in two seconds.

Looking sublime as always BAM, i just picked up a Skaven team and will be converting a Rat Ogre to join them. The Forgeworld one is an absolute stinker of a mini...so will be sorting my own out this time.

Pretty much looks as bad painted as well from what I have seen....surprised they have put this out there to be honest....the lack of detail on it seems to be staggering.

I'm waiting for the wood elf and chaos teams, wood elves because i liked their playstyle and I envision a bunch of dynamic models to show their agility, chaos because they have a bunch of mutation options and a minotaur i haven't seen the new rules though so i don't know how many of the old teams are still in the game

I read somewhere that BB sales were way above games workshops expectation and the original plan was for the majority of the alternative teams to be Resins. Maybe this will not be the case now due to higher potential sales of the plastic kits?

rumour has it a goblin/elf teams are the next out
