Indeed, art is not qualtifiyable. It'll always be flavoured by the emotions of the observer.
One can 'judge' the technical skill, but in the end it's how it's perceived that counts.

Hhaving been in the judges shoes, I can tell you there's a helluva lot goes into it, but sometimes it's the "BANG" Eye Candy Factor, which is the initial 'hook'.
Get that right and then it's on from there.

<img src="http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=33384&stc=1" attachmentid="33384" alt="" id="vbattach_33384" class="previewthumb">Here's the work so far since 10:30 am I've blocked in the base colors and first steps of the shading on a few parts such as the flesh, leather khaki pants , the dirty blind hair, the dark leather boots and nut guards etc etc. I will not be giving any recipes due to the subject matter will be a CB entry, and really feel like not having anybody be given any other help on an already tough category in an already tough contest. The shininess of the model just disregard , it's due to me mixing some turpentine to create an oil based paint(linger drying time but smoother blends.) it will be Matt sealed upon finishing the model. Stay tuned folks!!!

These eyes took about

20 tries . He actually y has no eyeballs sculpted and he's more or less set up to be squinting which means there should be no eyes so I did what any artist would do::: I tried to set out to pick out eyeballs and pupils and must say I did a bangin job.... (Wipes the dust off shoulders) lol

Great job bro, you paint fast... I am in awe. I would of probably spend a week on the face only LOL Meaning to get it at that level.

Lollolol Ll thanks much jocelyn, yeah as I always mention because I was terribly injured 3 years ago all I do hrs upon hrs a day is paint paint paint..thanks so much for the recognition...I really am stoked when you like my projects m8ty..

Stop it bro you make me blush, I am sorry to ear about your accident, one day you and me will talk about our dark moments but today bro you and me are on the same platform and we paddle together. I am as astonished to have stumble on my biggest fan then you are at scooped me out from the mud.

As long as I have you, Exiled and all the nice folks I met here I am good to continue for a long time.

BAM...i think you may be creating a new favorite for me.the face, hair and beard are gorgeous. Question..is there a blemish in the paint above the left knee or is it a tear sculpted in the cloth? I cannot tell from the photo.

Ll @krule it's a deep shading that probably needs to be smoothed out I'll have to check it out tomorrow. Your left correct?
@diggs lol I'm not lying diggs when I say all I do bud is paint it's literally all I do.lol thanks from the both of you I intend to get some trophies at crystal brush but if I don't I'm not going to make it easy for the other competitors.....:)

Just by the sheer volume of things you paint I don't think there will be room for others to join.
