Yeah I read it he really put his best foot forwArd I have no choice but to revisit the older one , convert it and paint him up as part of this unit which will consist of him the original , the two bigger guys the bile piper and the scrivener !!! And just maybe 1 more . What can I say it’s not so much it fits my love for weathering and decay it’s that along with GW puts out the greatest models ever. They went from a unit or and a hero a month to a barrage of superior models for each and every game. They are in my mind the greatest models worth every penny especially the casts are in an amazing low defect rate plastic material where parts fit like ojs gloves!!! Lol ok bad joke.
Thanksbud i WILLNOT DISSAPOINT!!!;)

First update of today - let’s stattthis off with some wood texture - the wood on this model is without texture. No grain. It’s flat. So I’ve done some fleshing out of my own. Basis for the texture is done the next photo I update you’ll see a difference in the pop.View attachment 63645

Alrighty folks this is what dub the midday update- NOW IM PRETTY sure I came up with this one- I haven’t seen anybody do this and I’ve done this early in when I did the trenches on my grit tanks. I call it “ROTTED WOOD” - let’s faces like skulls have lines wood rots over time due to moisture, elements , blood spatter, guts and plain ol ROT!!! So I came up with instead of miss and all that junk that I’ve seen I USE- agrellan earth - crackle medium . I haven’t seen this and if it existed before me than I apologize. However I use it quite a lot when it’s wood from any chaos faction especially nurgle .and in my trenches for the wood beams and railroad tires.here you can see it in this lord of blight. Stay tuned .im tweaking as I go;)View attachment 63646

it's neat to see how far people come, they are some cool creations. had a read of the nurgle lord earlier today that's a good feeling when you have done something and later it gets used. I'm liking the blues you have added to him too. I'm looking for the crackles but maybe I'm blind you defiantly have your own epic style, I kinda think of a Norse saga when I look at your stuff truly epic.

Thanks muchos can can your the goods brother. Ok so zoom in on your computer as big as you can you’ll start to see very small lumps which is how they appear as your zooming in blow it up big enough and you’ll start to see em.

Love the old school mate. If im honest that's my favourite style of painting as you can tell from the orc im painting at the moment.

Nice technique with the crackle medium on wood BaM, really smart idea.

Scary that you were a GD finalist when I was 4 years old. I might be up to your standard in 22 years time.

1995/1996 I would have been 20 and this was just after I drifted out of the hobby off to University. If only I’d been honing the skills for 20 years between then and now....Great to see your old pieces BAM...the foundations of what we know as classic BAM are clearly there, particularly those skulls littered about the base!

Thanks a bunch guys- think bout it this way - I actualluy like everybody else lol started only to improve in the last 3 years. Before that I pretty much painted the same way and always wondered why I want winning demon statuettes more. The truth is only when intenermet came to evolve did everybody start to understands the routines that were needed to paint better miniatures. If you had no painting circle of friends you couldn’t really excell. This was due to only painting what you know. Now even warhammer tv which is a great painting standard for anybody would have been enough to turn the tides anhavr pwople imprive. This along with articles, YouTube videos and DVDS were def mandatory to understand how the top people approached and painted models. Otherwise for me I really wasn’t honing my skills. I was atuck and thought that was as good as it gets.;) little did We know eh!!!;)

Lololol oh no no no my friend. I am no where near patient or willing to learn that my hats off to all that do it. As for me I. True to the metallic paints my dear friend CC. I will rarely never say never but I probably will not be going that route anywhere in the near future.;(
