Look sicks hang in there kids are tough and I’m sure the little one will be more than fine in life. Maybe even influenced in painting eh. Now as for painting what and how you know I’m very big on that whole “do what you know if that’s the trait.. encourage it “ bottom line. There have been some just simply amazing pieces that have come out of your thread as you’ve progressed volumes already. So keep it going. If it’s not broke... it shouldn’t be fixed up. As far as comp it’s a win lose situation you always feel like you want to win( nothing wrong with that) it’s human nature. However it can suck when you lose.. again , it’s human nature.only recently have I come to learn that I’m happy with my painting wether I win or lose. But if I didn’t have 20 awards I think ide feel different. To me competition validated my work and it validates it to myself. That’s it nothing more to it. Will I ever think that comp isn’t important.. no cause it also does other things- 2) forces you to finish projects2) has you constantly improving in a die hard way to be able to keep a somewhat level to even consider myself able to enter. This and other things aside it feels good to win. It feels good when my fav football team wins, it felt good to win in comp boxing, or weightlifting meets. Again it’s human nature to strive and strive to be better than the norm at least. No one EVER starts anything and says “ I’m doing this endeavor to be mediocre at it” it just isn’t human.;) so take these for whatever it’s just my feelings and what I desire and aspire to. Always will.

My boy has exceeded all expectations, he's really my hero, he'll be fine I'm sure just might take a little longer but that's fine too. It's more a guilty feeling of having to go off for probably an overnight stay and leave my partner to deal with 3 kids on her own. You're right about comps, I'm sure I'd tell myself I don't mind not winning, just the experience and to see how my minis are received would be great but I'm sure deep down there's be that spark of hope that I might an something haha, in one of the Facebook groups I'm in they did a first mini you painted Vs most recent and I saw the progress I'd made, it wasnt the first mini I painted but it was one just before I joined here that at the time I was really proud of (a hasslefree dwarf). I can honestly say I owe all the rapid progress I've made to you and others from this site. I think I wouldn't have got half as good in the same time without all the helpful advice along the way :)

So I've got a good few years yet to get good before I try and hit up some competitions, it's only travel times but hopefully I'll get to meet some people from here, tried a few online comps but theres usually a time limit and I get put off, ithink knowing when the event will be and having ages to work on something might work better for me

Yeah I’m trying some new things for this model. It should be really fun. Also my friend tero, once Janet’s alimony goes than I too will be too poor at least for as many as I go to now. Not to worry. There’s always comps that are close enough to attend.;)

Not dropped in here for a while because of work n other dull stuff...

That vintage Eavy Metal is my era BAM...love all that old stuff...the crazy blanche freehands and conversions, the early days of 40k and vintage gobbos....awesome. Wish I still had my stack of old White Dwarfs to leaf through now.

Awesome stash of minis for Crystal Brush as well...your looking in great shape there...can only wish you the best of luck when it comes round.

Snakey/hydra thingy from Arena rex is coming along well too for what looks like a bit of a shabby mini....sometimes those are the most satisfying to make look s**t hot....sure you'lll work wonders with it.

I think you might need a few more paints, that doesn't look like enough. :p
Your normal Nurgle paintings are fantastic already, can't wait to see what this guy becomes if you're planning to push yourself with it.

Awww shucks guyyys !!! Lol yeah flu great paints a bit intense in the times but hey I’ll just knock it the ferk back!!! They cover and blend easy!! And the colors I’ve chose I’ve loved so far mixing and matching up. They are probably as good as reaper as in they are easy to use no problems yet. Hang tight guys I’m working diligently so I can have a photo of my fist fully painted model using the scale 75 range.

Damn Bam , you should look after that woman of yours , you don't know how lucky you are . To have her order you stuff she thinks you may need like scale 75 paints , too good to be true .....maybe she's up to something ...it isn't normal spousal behaviour.

Yeah bud I’m blessed and her being not just an artist who is an amazing jewelry designer but she is very much into my hobby simply because she really is all about me and same here I honestly don’t Remember what my life was when she wasn’t in it. She’s the greatest gift to anybody that knows her.;) I live that broad. She knows this stuff I love so she simply got into it cause of how I’m always immersed in this hobby. She knows all the big names , their work etcetera and Ben komets , jarhead Jose palomates nunez ,they all love her. It’s just a great situation!

Yes BAM!....was a great story behind this mini posted up on instagram the other day by the designer David Waeselynck

As the first part of his training 5 years ago he was asked to do a 3up (x3 scale verion of the classic lord of plagues mini) to improve his skill...he adapted the designs slightly to put his own twists on it and eventually it was used as the basis for this mini.

Can't wait to see what you do with this BAM
