OH, I almost forgot--I got my (slightly suggestively packaged) Stonehaven Half-Orc Kickstarter minis in the mail!

They're gonna be so fun to paint. The necromancer is my favorite. I seem to have a type...

Suggestively packed? I mean, I like minis too, but I don't get it.

Love the Rainbow Lady! I think I met her in the '90's at a steel pulse concert ;)

You can never watch enough!

The rainbow lady looks great. Very nice transitions.

It is very motivating when people comment on your work. I try to get to everyone but sometimes it takes me a while.

Slightly suggestively packaged? As in they look like they are packaged condom style? I wouldn't have even noticed if you had not mentioned it. You perv :)

Slightly!

Thanks! I have a lot more planned for her.

I need to be better about commenting. Half the time I click, scan, think stuff looks awesome, and straight up forget to actually type it out.

You're the second person who's recommended pink, I'll give that some thought. My first reaction was something neutral and natural, like a tawny blonde, because this much color is scary, but perhaps I should just embrace it.

Amazing, I realy love your colour palette and subtle blending of highlight and shadows yet you keep enough contrast. Is the last girl coming on the same base as the others? she seems so vibrant and colourful compared to the others. Follwing with lots of interest.

Cheers,

I agree with Gino. The blends between the colors are great and i love how you can incorporate such a broad pallette of colors...yet make them muted/believable without being clowny.

Like entirely pink? That doesn't work in my mind (though I'm no expert on color, so try it if you want!). I do think adding some color to the hair could be interesting. Like how people will dye just a strand/stripe or the ends of their hair. Maybe you can use that and work in more of the rainbow theme. Colored hair or no, the figure looks great!

Thanks! And no, she's a separate project and will have her own base.

I'm still feeling natural for the hair, white makes her look like Storm! Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just not what I'm after. I'm also thinking I might need to lighten up the rainbow colors a bit for the sake of the pattern I have planned.

What's wrong with Storm??? How about platinum blonde afro, but with real dark roots so you go from super dark to near white on top?

And I started on her today, too. Still debating hair color.

I would go for a natural hair look so I agree with Gandalf on chestnut brown or similar. And if you feel it too serious you can add a strand of coloured hair. Whatever you decide it is a really nice painting and the reasons behind it are even better. :rainbow:

Nothing! I just want the rainbow to be the standout thing, yannow.

Recent stuff, in mostly pictures instead of words 'cause I'm lazy and it's bedtime:

I'm really struggling with her hair--not the color, which I actually like, but the actual painting of it. Dunno why I have so much trouble with it. Just treat it like NMM, they said...anyways, nothing's done, but I'm reasonably alright with how her clothes are coming along. Needs some refining, but hopefully the general shimmeryness is starting to come across?

Yes ivory for the highlights (vehicle out some Pantene commercials for reference on shiny hair) and a little blue with the brown in the recesses and shadows for extra contrast :)

OMG Stylized roots are so awesome! Such a great idea! On the hair maybe try painting with a an older detail brush, remember to paint with the side instead of the tip of the brush and maybe go thicker than usual with the paint? How about shiny look on her face? Maybe just a couple of bright spots on her cheeks? Her face looks a little dark to me compared to the rest of her skin.
