That was not the point. I know it's produced by GM, but it's still sculpted by HF's Kev White. I thought the collaboration between HF and GM came first, and the fairy after. It was the other way around. I already said I was wrong. No need to rub it in. And I know it's a Black Sabbath song. My gf is a Sabbath fan. (And I'm an Eels fan, as I assume you are. )

How about we drop this discussion and go back to admiring skel's minis?

Damn Skel that's a fantastic green skin. I would win something one day if all of you would stop entering your stuff !!!!

You should get something easy this year looking through your thread mate. I didn't meet you at GD 2012 as I spent my time looking around at the event and taking pictures and I think you said you would be spending your time in a hotel bar ) ) but look forward to seeing you and some of your work this year! And I hope Stefan you will be attending as well!! Make sure you drag Ischa along. Throw him in your backpack if he seems reluctant mate......

Hopefully I will have an entry, looking forward to seeing if I can do a good one. Done more 2d than minis last year.

I meant rubbing in the fact that I was wrong about the mini being made for GM and not HF. Didn't mean to sound defensive. I tried to add a to lighten that up, but apparently failed.

About the orc, you wrote it was a kit bash? Is it the wolf's head that's been added on?

no, the orc is pretty much out of the box. its the deamon thats kitbash!

and yes dfb, this year i will head for ukgd if there is one :good: ischa is too boring though hohoo i would need a donkey that could carry some of my stuff though, not sure how to take everything on the plane... guess i have the same prob to salute, have to be kind of selective.

okay some updates folks. just started to work the claws, the first shading i usually do for tmm is to paint, glazing style, with a red+black mix. on this mini i later shaded more with blue and smoke colors and some black/black+red ink in the darkest spots. the semi-glossy ink make the darker look, well, darker after the claws its only the left metal arm left before i can start to work the other details- the left hand, the can to the breather, and the two wings *sigh* might even need to rebuild at least one of the wings and mechanize it a bit. and the base. hmm. feels good not to have a real deadline now at least even if it would be cool to bring it to Salute.

I still can't get over how cool that skin looks.

Neat to see the claws at this early stage. With all the layers you add by the end it's hard to figure out how you got to the final result, so this gives us a little more insight. It'll be nice to compare with the end result. As always I'm looking forward to the next update!

LoL. I will send you a sculpt of something don't worry. Just let me get myself together and I shall get to work. 2D is easier to pick up and put down, but hopefully I can translate some stuff across into my mini painting! I won't be at Salute unfortunately as I won't be able to get anything decent done and I have Games expo in May kind of booked and arranged with a mate. I am gunning for an entry or two for Games Day and maybe Euromilitaire. I have seen the standard of painting at Euromiliataire so if I enter it will only be for the hell of it lol.

Look forward to getting the mini, pride of place on my paint station!

can say its the last time i paint something as bombarded with details like this lol. lookning forward to paint more orc with like 2 details on each mini

bailey, yeah its kind of interesting how colors work. after the blackred glazes i use dark blue, followed by some random smoke color. finished it yesterday but didnt take any images. will later today!

chris, just PM'd you im going to ukgd this year if there is one lol no plan for euromilitaire in my book so far. have to switch each year. its time to meet up though!

well, been fixin' some other stuff. anyone remember these fellas?

had to bin the display, it has broken and would never make another trip. also, the minis were magnetized in a poor way so the guy with the banner have hade one punch in the face too many, he just kept falling over any nob near him, heavy metal. now they are pinned and glued as h*ll. just a sign or two at the front, then they are all go for Salute

main body done, starting with the details. most of the stuff in picture is done except feet and skullz on top of the banner.
that said ive not been painting in a couple of days, was blessed by nurgle in the weekend with stomach sickness and have get neither energy or inspiration to do much since then.





have to say the images dont really do him justice. but ah well. you get the point.
