Sooo ugglyyyyy, but in a good way.
I love this one. It's very interesting to follow the painting process of your mini, very instructive and a excellent way to learn how to paint badass toads :)

I hope that we'll have the chance to follow the wip of the base too.

thanks meph, most likely use some of them. like the second one.
Hfamily, i do my worst ;)

anyway new pictures! added a gun from an empire sprue, painted little skullz and the guitarr. much of the pj looks meh because of the white areas though.
nails are just washed, will not paint more on those until he is properly based. also the cevered head keeps bumping into things when i paint, save that one for later.

looking forward to some serious TMM sessions now, phew! :)

as for shield pattern, one of the shield is probably going to get a frog siluette at least, among other details... something like this...

Those little additions look really nice, good stuff.
Also, that eye keeps following me wherever I go, freaky!

Some parts look shiny (mouth and teeth), did you add some varnish or did you achieve that effect with the washes? Suits very weel with the nuglish toad.
BTW love the litle freehand on the gun :)

some re:work... tweaking with colors, the "fingertips" is going to be remastered though, just a test how it would look mostly. probably make them more purple/red. also, removed much to the overdone glossiness at some places. slowly im getting satisfied, lets see. added a skellybone at the viewers right side as it looked empty, not painted yet. will hang a few bits in the horn later i think.

made the most of the true metal on the legs, chainmail not done yet. interesting about the legs is that they look the same, but the first leg took 4-5 hours while the other one took half. some days are indeed better paintng days!

getting eyeballed, v2... trying not to overdo slime effect. im leaving it now :)

Really like the sense of character on this model. Its the touches like the musket that add so much depth for me. The juxtaposition of the ornate handle combined with the grubby appearance creates a little point of interest that helps you build the character in you mind. Love the toads eye too. You never fail to impress me

That toad has charisma...in a Nurgley sort of way!
I'm really enjoying seeing this one come together. I love how you've pulled together all the colours and textures to give visual interest without compromising the unity of the whole mini.

I love it how one's eye tends to wander all over the mdoel and discover all kinds of interesting details and colour. But in the end it's the toad's eye that really ties everything together.

well, last weekend was supposed to be the "woaw great painting weekend" but i ended up painting 15 minutes. big boo-hoo. seems like murphy just dont want me to paint.
but yaya, little sneak peak of the shield freehand pattern so far, nurgle symbol is just drawn shape so far. tiny stuff but fun to paint!
