LOL I love how your table top quality is like the absolute best I'd ever be able to paint... lol... By the way, what kind of acrylic resin do you use for your water effects in your dioramas (plague toad and goblin for example)?

Euro Militaire, Hussar, etc don't do it for ya? I would be big on that little Italian one that some of the best always go to (forgot the name...Monte something). I really would like to compete this year, possibly Crystal B. However, my current obsession with oil painting on canvas/wood is really taking up all my time.

RMA; cheers man. i guess ukgd has been well known for its weird judging forever. and yeah, its getting expensive. would probably bought a ticket for horus heresy weekend if it hadnt been bloody £70 and a 3 day stay at a hotel, expensive! anyway, hope to see you at some competition again later.

theLost; cheers man for my dioramas i use clear plastic P74 not acrylic resin. i have no idea the english name of it or where to buy except here on this swedish site. smells like a chemical factory but it sets rock hard and the best product ive used so far.

Bloodfather; yes i have been to Monte san Savino competition. really cool place but i find it too hard to get to, its a very little town in the middle of nowhere. also when it comes to competitions, i like competitions with just one bronse/silver/gold in every category more than the open system. more nerve :) i believe its more common in US, but in europe there is only hussar and salute left except GD's and yes i probably will go to these two this year.

okay so i decided to do something different so i started a historical regiment for salute, painting a regiment of 5 28mm italian/genoese pavise crossbowmen.
actually they are old GW miniatures but they are close enough ripoff the real deal.

yes, machete do a lot of NMM on these ones, i think i paint this about 3 times faster than my TMM.

one of the shooters, got two more of these. whats missing is the big pavise shield in front of him which is going to be another freehand exercise, as they were highly decorative with symbols and religious artwork. lets se what i can muster later.

I'm continually impressed by the way you paint metals. I find those silver/steels to be especially difficult. Fantastic work!

That just looks like real metal to me! it will remain a big mystery how you can achieve that using flat colours8 I'm amazed.

cheers,

I'm actually a man!
Welcome to the dark side Skell, though that is a lovelly effect, i especially like how it looks like real metal, not polished shine if you see what i mean :).

I am actually looking to go the other way and improve my TMM oddly :)
