2 barrles? it has 2 muzzels, whih has the same effect as 2 barrels, \'cept that one barrel makes it fitted for Assault too, as it makes it much more sturdy than 2x1 barrels.
Oh well, I might be one of few, but I still like the red :innocent:
There\'s not much I can say that hasn\'t been said already. The technique is great, the blue is brilliant, and the all-red gun and backpack puzzle me to no end. I would\'ve really liked to see them done in more traditional mixes of red, black and metallics.
I hope you do paint a lot more Marine figures, you\'ve obviously got the style for power armor.

Have I ever seen a real combat weapon? No, and I am very glad of the fact that I haven\'t and hope that I never have to!!
Although my brother in law has Just completed his Royal Marines Training, and has his passing out ceromony this Friday 24th, and he assures me they don\'t go to war armed with Jelly Babies!
In all fairness though, this is a Science fantasy/fiction piece so I guess there is no right or wrong way to paint the weapons- As they don\'t REALLY exist then the artist is free to interpret them however she sees fit. (even if its not to everyones tastes!)
Just hope that this does not put off bidders on the ebay auction, as it is still a beautiful piece, and everyone who likes the gun and backpack and thinks it doesn\'t look out of place, the auction is a chance for you to put your money where your mouth is!

Like it! Your take on the Space marines is definately a relief from the subdued schemes that has been the rule of thumb lately. My eyes are constantly drawn to the red backside of the gun... really nice red NMM going on. The gems on the power fist is also eyecatching.
I see nothing wrong with another take on the way you paint a spacemarine. Just because some elements aren\'t painted as we are used to doesn\'t mean it needs to be wrong. The only thing I reacted to was that the stormbolter only had one hole when there\'s actually two barrels.
The pics are so and so though imo.. they seem a bit oversaturated and fuzzy. The lighting seem a bit wierd too as the upper part of the mini is darker then the lower especially on two of the photos.

I really like the reds. Your painting is as good as ever. I remember reading that space marines typically think of camouflage as \"the color of cowardice\" So I can believe that they would paint/mold bolter parts in bright colors. The red is very impressive but the first impression I had was that the bolter reminded me of lego\'s. Great blues as ever. Don\'t change a thing.

I never painted a space-marine, but now I get the idea. A space marine is such a main-character in the miniature-world, that probably every miniature-painter should paint one once in his life.

fantastic work, for me the part that really stands out are the eyes, these are probably the best i\'ve seen done on a model this scale.
It also reminds me to go punish my hands for not painting that well.

I don\'t want to thread any toes but.
Honestly I don\'t think you\'ve had so much problem with highlighting on your pieces. I think what people (including me) has been trying to point out is definition. Your minis has sometimes lacked that final sharp shading that picks out details. This one does not at all.
And honestly I think people might be commenting more on the oversaturation (which from my experience is most often a feature of the image) then the actual highlights vs shading of the piece. Like som people might say that the old EM style was too contrasted when it\'s more about colourselection then how far the highlights go. It\'s sometimes difficult to express what you mean with the correct words.

Some prefer more natural, subtle works, others -- brighter and with exaggerated highlights. And I know I should focus more on blacklining so give my minis more sharpness. But it just doesn\'t work for me yet, it\'s not, so to speak, my thing. Still, I\'ll try.
