No, it is simply that when a person stops living for themselves and starts living for other people things may change....such as the change from being not responsible for oneself and being responsible for say a child or two or for say aging parents who helped you grow up to. Life is a matter of perpective. No one perspective is right here. I don\'t know yours, nor do you know mine, but suffice to say that if I lived your life for a week and you lived mine for a week you and I would become pretty good friends for it simply because we have a different understanding for what the other must live through. Deathbed conversions....not for me, but I do believe that if it is sincere it is worth something regardless of age. Close to the cradle or close to death it matters not and yes I would like to call it middle age but somehow I doubt that I am going to make it to 92lollol but if I do it right this time out the age that I get to is not important.
I respect your thoughts and certainly your ability to express them...true signs of sentient life...proof that there is much cause for hope in the human race, that some teenagers have a solid grasp on their individuality and place in the world. To me that by itself is a cause for celebration. No Humour, Sarcasm or malice intended with that last statement. I really do mean that.

But, whilst having had far more than my fair share of life\'s trials and tribulations, I still do not feel the need to either blame them on an external agency, or seek solace from that agency.
If there is indeed a god/supreme being, then all I ask is a baseball bat and half an hour in a locked room with him/her/them/it/ whatever...

If you stretch that just a tiny bit, say religion is a firmly held belief regarding a divine being, then atheism, being the firmly held belief that no such being exists, is a form of religion. That\'s how it is generally seen in the USA.
That is why the government cannot force everyone to be atheist nor can it stop people from being atheists. The US constitution guarantees freedom of religion and freedom from religion (contrary to what Elizabeth Dole would believe). Therefore, atheists are as protected as any other religion.
Agnosticism on the other hand is the lack of belief and therefore is not considered a religion.
