But my goal was to paint a mini in two weeks that I wouldn't be ashamed to bring to Golden Demon, and I've pulled that off.

I have yet to see anything you've painted that you should ever consider being ashamed of.

I know that GD can sometimes be a crapshoot, but if the judges cannot see the quality in your work then the 'Competition' isn't worth the effort.

Superb job ... And you said that you weren't GDing this year!! And all in 2 weeks ... So depressing ... Mine's taken 6 months! Will be good to see you at GD ... I'll be near the Duels ... For a change

Congrats to Dave the man, who in two weeks paints a 40k mini and took bronze!
Not forgetting 40k is always the strongest category also.
Well done mr sproket :)

Well done on the demon mate. Having seen the picture of him here I was really blown away at just how small he actually was! The level of detail you got into that guy in 2 weeks is mind blowing!

Thanks Guys!
I'm over the moon about getting a bronze demon for my Haemonculus.

I'm so glad I decided to go for it and paint myself out of my post Euro blues. I owe it all to Lee who encouraged me at a critical moment (he also cornered me at GD and insisted that I give him his due credit:laugh:) .

I'm now feeling really hyped for the next year's painting projects and I've even decided on what I'd like to paint for GD next year. It's a long time since I've painted any Nurgle minis but the Putrid Blightkings and Gutrot Spume are saying 'paint me' in loud and clear tones!

Congratulations to all the winners at GD I thought it was a tough competition this year with a really high standard. There didn't seem to be quite as many minis in the cabinets as previous years but the overall quality of painting was right up there.

Mr. Soper,
As a student of your fine painting, I have been studying your blog and all of your projects very intently of late, and I'd just like to tell you that you truly deserve the accolades. In two weeks you threw together such a beautiful and well designed mini that it was promised to get awarded. I am immensely proud for you...

Well done on the bronze! Outstanding for two weeks. If you don't mind me asking, how do apply your paint to un primed plastic? The one time I tried, I found it didn't want to adhere to where I was trying to put it...
