BoK; it doesn't matter if my competition entries don't "Win" cos the standard is always BLOODY HIGH, getting any award is a serious Yahoo moment and I've been very surprised and delighted to be awarded two Bronzes.

If I get anything this year it'll be nice BUT I'm under no illusions as I know I'm in the same competitions as the best in the world

Of course, DR. What I meant by my comments was that you are among a class of great painters that I've become acquainted with on CMON. I was just shocked that you had prepared 8 different pieces, as we are not blessed with seeing your WIPs on here. Despite the great competition, you all are worthy of a multitude of accolades for your contributions to miniature art. That's for sure!!!!

The drives not that bad Dave, just watch it over the speed ramps!

The drive up to Birmingham for GD last year was a bit hairy! The Scourge dio is fairly delicate and has a few brittle parts. It all went quite well until we turned into the street our hotel was in. It was cobbled & I nearly wet myself with fright over what that could have done to the dio!

I'm not too worried about transporting the minis for Euro. I've worked out a pretty good system for packing them and I'm bringing them into work tomorrow to test the boxes - just in case.

My big frustration is that the trip could be very tedious. Southampton to Folkstone is a pain. We could go via Brighton but that might be a four hour drive. The quickest route seems to be up the M3 to the M25 and then back down on the M20. The M25 on a Friday evening is not likely to be much fun!

Ugh!!!! All of that on the wrong side of the road would be tedious...

Way off topic here, but I heard that if I were to ship my 2009 Mustang GT out to the UK and have it converted to right hand side, that it could sell for about $15,000 more than I could Stateside. Do you see many Ford Mustangs over there?

In just three hours time I'll be heading off to Folkestone for Euro Millitaire and I'm as ready as I can be. Finishing off a project is a slightly odd experience for me. It's usually a matter of deciding to stop rather than actually completing every possible tweak and adjustment to the peak of perfection. It's important to know when to stop and move on to the next project. Which is as good a way as any of saying here is the finished Uncle John bust. I'll post more & hopefully better pics next week once the dust has settled.

Fantastic work! With figures like this no wonder people talk about how tough the competition is at euro!

Well David was awarded a bronze for Uncle John, which I'm surprized at as I though it would do better.
But I'm gutted for him that the Frog rider didn't get anything when it so really really well done.
