The Good Whiskey Drinking Guide

Well, I am a little drunk but I am gonna attemopt to write this meaningless nonsense....

DFB's Good Whiskey Drinking Guide

1) You will first need yourself a good bottle of single malt whiskey. I like Tobermory but the selection out there is varied with many good quality whiskies. If you have Bells or Teachers in your cupboard, do yourself a favour and pour them down the sink.

2) Next you need a fine quality crystal whiskey tumbler. Tap it to check.

3) Grab some ice cubes

4) Pour in some lemonade or coke, whatever you prefer.

5) Now throw it in the bin, you won't be needing that shit.

6) Bite into the cork of the whiskey bottle and spit it out as far as you can. Extra points if you hit the cat.

7) Now sniff it. Allow the aroma to hit your nostrils for a second or two

8) Take a small sip and let it sit on your tongue and savour the moment and its warmth. DO NOT swig it under any circumstances. Its not rum and you are not a pirate.

9) Job is done, continue to drink at leisure.

rum and coke. not whiskey. allways was a tequila guy, but a good whiskey deserves a proper treatment. dont even use cubes, if you want it cold, put it in the fridge a bit.

I'm actually a man!
My GF bought me whisky stones, they are small 1" square granite cubes that you put in the freezer. they cool the whisky but dont dilute it, they are quite ace. i enjoy them with a nice dram of Macallan.

QFT.

If one of you guys ever gets to Singapore, look me up. I just put in a bunch and got a bottle of 25 year old Glenmorangie single malt. Man, the price has gone up!

You telling me you poisoned **25** year old Glenmorangie with coke? Glenmorangie is a fine whiskey, don't let me catch you doing it again!

dfb (currently still a little bit hung over from half a bottle of Tobermory)

I've always been a bit embarrassed I don't drink whisky - I've always been more of a few-beers-followed-by-rum-and-coke kinda guy :(

Why? You should drink what you like drinking. If you just want to get drunk, mixing up a Strongbow cider and beer combo will knock you out in a couple of pints - if you can get it down, that is. It tastes foul.

Gentlemen. Get it right;-

Whiskey = Bushmills, Clontarf or Slieve Foy (Irish)
Whisky = Bladnoch (Lowland Scottish and incredibly smooth)

Should only be served with pure water.

Sounds like a snake bite that does...As an equally foul alternative - 3/4 pint lager topped up with smirnoff ice = turbo shandies...vile but fun :D
