Some monkeys, such as the Barbary Ape (a tailless macaque), have the word \"ape\" in their common names (usually to indicate lack of a tail), but they are not regarded as true apes. Another tailless monkey is the Celebes Crested Macaque. And it\'s not confined to macaques - a baboon is another monkey with no tail. The main difference between apes and monkeys is that apes, including us, have opposable thumbs, while monkeys do not.

Baboons are monkeys you are correct but they do have tails. They have very short tails but they are there none the less. Go google pictures of baboons, I\'ve never seen one without a tail.
