The Six Nations Thread

I don\'t get to see too many England matches these days. It\'s a blessing at the moment - what a shower of shite!

I do get to watch the Tri-Nations though. My word, THAT is a competition. They absolutely batter each other!! 3 times! Main thing I\'ve learned is that everyone down here hates the Springboks :D

It was great to see the South Africans muller the Aussies in the cricket mind. Laugh? I almost followed through....

\"Nigel Clough Batters Old Club In Thriller\"

That result had so many little sub-plots. Tidy win for Derby - Notts Forest are becoming a tidy footballing side again.

For all those not in the know, the Six Nations is a drinking competition. Sometimes the drinkers view rugby matches through drunken eye-peeps, but it\'s mostly about the drinking :D

Key withdrawals for Scotland: Murray and Hines. Could help Wales a lot!

Aussie cricket is on the slide, but they\'ll still win the Ashes. FACT.

I can\'t stand Pietersen. Nob.

Only 2 days till aunch.......come on with the rugby already!

Yep!

He\'s South African too! :D

Not convinced that the Aussies are going to win the Ashes. I\'ve watched their last two test series, and they\'re a shadow of the team they were. Their bowling is looking featherweight and even their batting isn\'t as rock solid as it was. I think it\'ll be a close series.

Don\'t visit in two days and what a surprise, Rev has started a six nations thread - how remiss of me.

Not expecting anything from England this year but that\'s probably the best way.

To be honest, I think it\'s anyone\'s. No one strikes me as being \'red-hot\' at the mo and that if anything, could help make it the tightest six nations in years.

Logan, I\'m with you on that mate. It\'s going to be tight. The first weekend is intriguing. Can\'t wait to see the scores roll in from behind my work desk :( lol

How did you manage to cock that up?
We\'re stil snowbound so it\'s the sofa, the telly and a nice whiskey for me :)

Whiskey - a great drink for celebrating, contemplating or commiserating!

A good advert for whiskey mate lol

I\'m in work but finishing at 3 today and 2.30 tomorrow. I\'ll get back for most of the England match and then watch the Irish later. Tomorrow sees me finishing in good enough time to jump in a taxi and shoot off to the pub for kick off where my folks, girlfriend and mates will be. Good or what!

If there\'s food involved as well I\'d say it\'s damn near perfect! lol

A win is a all that\'s missing at this point. It\'s nervy stuff. Can\'t wait to get back today and see what the competition is doing on the pitch

Brian Moore summed it up;
\"Rarely has a five try victory seemed so ineffectual\".

Actually thought the Italians were better and hope the scoreline doesn\'t mask the obvious problems but hey, I\'ll take the win.

Agreed - odd sort of match. I hope we don\'t succumb to complacency... the win is welcome though

Respectability on the scoreboard, but my god it was like watching a silent slapstick film. I honestly felt that I\'d seen two different sports having seen what I did of the England match and then the Ire v Fra match after it. That was a corker and Ireland looked tidy. A simple game-plan and some great tries. I loved watching that one.

Fingers crossed now that Wales can start with a win. Very nervous :(

Yep - cracking game for the Welsh - (well first half). first half best i\'ve seen the boys play in a while - really had fire in their bellies and took it to the scotts straight off.

Second half they fell asleep just a good job we had a big enough lead or it might have been scary. If they can keep up the first half antics for a full game. We could be looking at another full house.
