oh liz, does that mean you are gonna do all the other groupie things for us too. hehehe. like make us rivets. lol

major update today. i managed to get the boom gun assembled last night and make the carriage that holds it. of course i still need to orkify the housing unit a bit more and add a back door as well. i plan on adding a bunch more exhaust units in the back of the housing unit as well. i have been following the idea of a triangle that starts out small at the bottom and fans out more and more as it goes to the back and i am pretty happy with my design. its pretty close to the pic i drew last sunday. i also plan on working on the small deck tonight and making a small stand that has a big red button on it, and have two gobbos standing by it, one pressing the button and the other covering its ears. the boom gun also will have some chains attached to it later on to make sure it stays in place.

let me know what you think guys.... cause i must admit, i am havin\' some fun.

without further ado.

Well I thought that Suki was running away with this one but the last batch of pics from Uberdark are VERY cool, Sub Zero in fact. This is going to be a close run thing. Loving it!

i totally agree with you on it being a close one. these are both very sweet looking. as for my style i was going for something slightly akira-esque/japanese.

dont know if i managed that. but i am fairly happy thus far. any thing else i should add to the boom gun? or is it fine besides adding the chains?

thanks guys

uber.

p.s. liz you best get on those rivets NOW!!!

That\'s interesting that you bring up Akira (my fav anime). When you posted the first pics, my first thought was the scene when they\'re infiltrating the science labs and Kaneda and Kei are flying through the tunnels on the hover platform they steal and the water splashing up around the edges as they pull a Rockford in the sewer. Even the illustration styling in that scene comes through in this, for me.

Weird that we\'re both seeing many of the same things here... spooky even.

sorry for the double post guys. i have been working on this model on and off all day. i then took a break to watch tropic thunder tonight and got some good laughs out of it. last night i finished up with the pipes, rivets and what not. today i spray painted it and if you look at the right borner of the picture you can see the beginning of my paint job other than the red paint put on thus far. i am also working on a driver for the looted wagon as well. i plan on having him sitting on a green stuff barca lounger with a few beers by him and some levers that lead into the hull. one of my friends told me to add handlebars as well, but i\'m not too sure about that. the big shoota is gonna be the big gun in the front and i plan on adding a scorcha later on, but only as an add on. i would like to keep painting but i am going on only a few hours sleep. another thing.... yhou can never have enough exhaust pipes. hehehehe :thumbs so without further ado:

Ive got a question for uberdark. Whats with the sidewalk chalk? Is that how you let off a little steam at the end of the day.

No but seriously, the looted wagon is lookn pretty gnarly. Great work, keep it up you 2.

the sidewalk chalk is used on our sidewalk. for our kids to draw with. we also have our cabinets painted with chalkboard paint so we can write and draw on it all the time.

Trust me folks, I would have paid to have gotten some work done yesterday but we got some bad (and I mean horrible) mexican food at this shady place in town adn I spent the whole day with some kind of food poisoning - that\'s my excue and I\'m sticking with it!

Seriously, my wife and I were ill due to some superbad mexican and weren\'t up to doing anything that put us more than 5 feet from the nearest bathroom - it was horrible. Good news is we\'re both feeling better today and I\'m back at the workbench playing catch up.

I might have been forst to post but uber got the first to paint - great job so far. I\'m liking the amount of red on this very much - true Speed Freek my friend! As of right now, I\'ve gotten the Boom Gun finished and figured I\'d post to let everyone know that I didn\'t disappear or go into hiding (you wish, eh uber?! :D )

Now I\'m hoping to have the interior decking, the sponons for the grot riggers and the back deck finished by this evening - that should put me at around 90% done with construction - only the small detailing left.

No more talk now, more pictures!
