hmm, I can\'t figure out who our winner is, Heather O\'neal...although I did find her CCV entry, which is quite nice, but I think there is definately improvement shown for the wereshark!

The water was done with clear resin I used a water bottle oiled as a mold placed sand and shark inside and poured just below lip, after I had to re coat with the resin a few times to clear up flaws
Thanks guys this indeed was fun

I know I got a lot more involved in making my base than I originally planned to. It was the first large base I\'ve ever done, I really had fun doing it. I\'ll be posting my entry in my gallery with more shots of it later.

Thanks to everybody who voted! :flip:

I think Tracy\'s was probably the most \'time consuming\'. I kept getting hints about \'resin\' and I was like, yeah, yeah, I\'m doing water too .. haha, hahh ....hoooo ...heeey ... that damn things completely submerged!

I really liked that one.

As for Heather, I asked her the other day and she isn\'t on CMON or any of these forums as far as I can tell. She likely followed the link from the CCV page.

Wow, I\'m shocked....never actually won anything before! Congrats to the other winners as well. Miss O\'Neal\'s gladiator was very well done and got my vote for Best in Show! I loved Tracey\'s eagle too... laughed my a$$ off when I saw it.

Thanks to all who voted for my Wereshark. :)

Guess there are a few of us SNL fans still left around out there... I\'m glad that the humor got through, that\'s really all I could have hoped for....

Here it is if any of you would care to vote or comment I\'d sure appreciate it!

Wereshark - CandyGram!

Cheers All,
Grumb

@ Grumb- So what\'s does it mean that we both used Arilynn the Water Sorceress on our dioramas and took the top two places in the Base/Diorama category? Do great minds think alike after all? ;):D

And congrats to you too Duende!

...and I think it just means that there\'s a conspiracy...and it involves aliens...and water sorceresses...and FF is right in the middle of it!

@Duende - I actually called RedDawn over to look when I saw your mini and that we had used the same female figure. It\'s too funny that it was you, I guess great minds do think alike! Cool that we finished 1 and 2. I really liked yours, how did you do the water? Looks like realistic Water with Water effects for the whitecaps....is that right?

@everyone - thanks for the votes and the nice comments!

Cheers,
Grumb

Hey, Grumb, I did a little write-up in the comment section under it\'s posting HERE. I\'m thinking of putting up some more close-up pics in another montage shot in my gallery later, including a good pic of Arilynn.

I\'m glad to be in such good company with all the other schmucks around here! ;)

@Ritual - thanks Anders!

@Nathan - thanks for hosting this contest, it was a lot of fun, even if it was a lot of work... ;)

Yeah, Grumb, you should be able to find Everlasting Elegance at places like Michael\'s, MJ Design, AC Moore, etc. Probably most any place that sells artifical flowers and the like. I\'d forgotten all about it until Duende mentioned it (I used to run craft stores at one time). Works pretty well but, like she said, it takes forever to dry.

Here\'s a link about it: Everlasting Elegance

My diorama sat under a lamp for nearly two days straight trying to get it to dry faster. But I still really like it, it\'s perfectly clear when it does dry (I hear stuff about other products yellowing). I thinking about experimenting with adding inks to it in the future. Can\'t hurt to try! :D

was there a list of all the Schmucks?

I\'m a little put off that I wasn\'t one, given the fact someone calls me that every other day!!lollol

Yup...there\'s a post in the frame on FF\'s site:

Random Schmucks have been chosen. You can thank my five year old son who had a fun time picking them out of the hat and then running off with them to be chased down!

Michelle Clay (Duende), Todd Hersey (DM of DOOM), Ethan Kozaki (Equus), Jeremy Welke (Drake Farstrider), Joanna Dale (Kittykat23uk), Jeff Logan (Human Squish) and Donna McConnel (Wiccan Pony)

Thank you FF\'s son! :D
