Just back from holiday, what i miss?

Thanks Digganob. Demon is next in line after Horus and then back to the diorama!

Dennis and Kbear, thanks for the crit. I've tried to work some green into the cloak and while subtle, I do think it looks better for it. done a little more to the base as well, just finishing touches now. My pigments turned up while I was away so I'll experiment a little then slap them on as well

I'll upload photo's when I can

I'm sorry I missed this, that diorama is promising, and a huge undertaking! Hours looks great, but I'm really liking the demon. I'm a big fan of any kind of red war demons, so I'll be watching.

thanks Chad. I'm definitely going to revisit the dragonman and diorama as I feel I've learnt an incredible amount while working on Horus and Malacant. I'm also going to rethink the cave in the base as I don't want the dwarfs to get lost.

I think Horus is finished (apart from a plinth) The pigments have been played with and added and while I think they may be a little to red, I'm still happy with how they turned out. I've left the skulls and steel supports slightly less detailed as I want to keep the viewers eye focused on the man himself.

What do you guys think? Anything that I should maybe change or take another look at? On that note i'd like to thank everybody that commented on this WIP. I'm 100% certain that without your help I wouldn't be anywhere as satisfied as I am with him (that's if I finished him at all)

Cheers

Tim

Thanks Digganob, Zab and Sionid I really appreciate it. Does anyone know where I can get a nice wooden plinth from? I'm after something slightly different (no idea what but I'll know it when I see it) but I'm having a bugger of a time finding somewhere that sells them.

Search for exotic wood dealers in your area. They usually have all kinds of different hard woods and will cut them to your specs. I got some maple burl and African blackwood and a nice piece of black walnut from a dealer near me.

As you should Gandalf. Your eagle/ troll diorama is looking pretty sweet to me and you are clearly improving with every post.

Zab that's easy to answer, I'm working towards personal satisfaction. I'm happy if I can get a little display cupboard somewhere in my house (obviously not in the living room as is doesn't go with the furniture and not in our bedroom as, well I've been told it doesn't go with the wallpaper. but if I'm very good I MIGHT be able to put one the the down stairs WC or maybe the garage) ((but only if I get rid of it if we have guests staying around)) and when I look at it it can think to myself 'yeah I did that and it's looks cool! Made and painted with my own hands....that's awesome!

I thought we were simply trying to free ourselves of these mortal shells and become paint/sculpt gods like some of the other guys here. Hell I would even settle for a roll as a lesser painting god under Tim here.

Never settle for a roll unless you know the details. What would the roll contain? ham, cheese or both? Mmmmmmmmmm ham
