The flaming pentagram is what I think fits perfectly, I would be concerned for too much detail in the relief getting lost on the base.
I agree the candles would be too much, like I say, it was a mad thought.

Thanks guys

i did think about candles for a wee bit Gandalf. I soooo nearly had a crack at sculpting them as well, maybe next time:nailbiting:

i've toned down the colours a wee bit. It was all getting a little garish.

Thanks Gandalf & Teronus

not a very productive weekend so far but I have managed to do a little painting. I've tried to refine the base colours a little and I've added some ink to intensify the shadows a give the pool the sense of depth. Hopefully I'll start on the pillar and chain tomorrow night. It's very late and its time for Timmy bye byes

Laying down some greens to help tie in the sorcerer. Pillar and the chain coming along nicely. I'm getting to the point where I'll be pouring the resin soon. No idea how to do it so any pointers would be amazing
cheers

Sorry for the double post but as per Demi's recommendation I've had a practice run at the freehand for the summoning circle. I'm not sure if I like the effect or not (certainly not enough to paint it on to the nearly finished base!) thoughts?

I really like that summoning circle, I believe the contrast will look great and help tell the story. The rest of the piece is simply stunning.

Ouuuuu yeah!! This post is getting better day by day.

I love how you have painted the floor and the tiles. I want something similar for my diorama floor. Could be possible an explanation? Be sure I' I'll get the Buddha DVD.

The freehand looks it is going to be so great.

Many thanks,
Mariano.

I think your not, I think your up for the challenge. The pattern is perfect as apply the colours like you did on the test piece will be brilliant to see.
i have every confidence in you.

To be fair I wasn't feeling the mojo that much yesterday Gandalf all this staying until 2:30am is starting to take its toll!

Hmmm not to sure if know where to start to be honest Mariano. My process is rather chaotic and slap dash. I don't measure my paint mix's (or have any recipes) and I lack the language and tuition skills necessary to successfully convey an idea (very jealous of blackadder and Baily as they do this effortlessly) You have made me think a little more on my painting process though and I'll see if I can't give you an overview.

Started to add some colour into the circle now. Looks a little rough at the moment and I'll work some more to even it out and up the whole saturation. I've attached a quick photoshop of the effect I'm going for.

Cheers
