No wonder this wizard looks upset, he has demon balls and tentacles coming at him from all directions haha. Looks incredible, Zab stole my advice but it looks like you touched on it so looking good man.

Thanks Gandalf and Diggs.

Your tentacle and balls post got me thinking Diggs and I've come up with a name for the sorcerer. Let him be known from this day fourth as Magic Mike!

I'm away for a long weekend as of tomorrow which is a bit of a double edge sword. Great to get away but I wont get any painting time in and I NEED to paint :tremble!:

This will be a great vignette. Amazing scene, everything fits together beautifully and visually it works great ...

Demon balls and tentacles (insert stereotypical Japanese joke here).

This is some epic looking stuff. When complete you will have a wonderful feast for the eyes.

Thanks guys:beerwave:

So a little step closer to completion. The pins are in and while the minis are not glued I can finally see what the finished article will look like. I think I'll try pouring the first batch of resin later, wish me luck!!!

Ok I'm happy with that. I put too much colour in but that's easily corrected. I'm pretty happy with how the ripples turned out.

It was kind of a happy accident. After an hour after the pour i prodded the test batch with the wooden spatular the resin was supplied with, just to see how it was curing. I really liked the effect so thought I'd cover a larger area and see what happened.

Thanks guys

Gandalf it's called Water clear casting resin from East Coast fibreglass supplies. Includes cups, mixing sticks, catalyst, mold and latex gloves. It cost me £15 for a kg which I thought was pretty reasonable.

Arkhareon first pour was last night and I'll post some photos when I get a chance. Anybody know how long I should wait before I do a second pour?

As this project draws to a close I've been wondering what to do next. I stupidly forgot about my holiday in July so that's going to mess up the Gods and monsters paint along. I will get to Artemis it may just have to wait a bit.

Insperation came in the form of Arkeonsomething the everchosen. I was looking at the sculpt and couldn't help thinking it reminded me of War from Darksiders. I loved that game, the design is inspired. Obviously it will require a little conversion but I reckon it will be fun. Here's a little alternative head tester I did last night.

Thanks. I will put this in my shopping list. Out of interest what sort of depth of pour do you do ? I know woodland scenically is about 1/8"

Ideally leave the resin until hard and no tackyness, if it's a fast curing resin leave at least 48 hours until the next pour to allow it to fully harden throughout. Hope this helps

My test pour was around 2/3" and that set fine. It doesn't really recommend anything other that do large pours in batches because of exsesive heat build up. That said it has the ratio of 10ml of catalyst to 1 ltr of resin in the instructions so I'm guessing you can do large ones if required

Thanks WGS, impatience was always my worst character flaw and I have gone ahead with the second batch (I really, really hope I don't regret that)
