Ahh Logan! That brings back fond memories of home.
I used to live in Hothfield in Kent before I moved to NH in the USA about 12 years ago.

I want to bring my hubby over and show him where I grew up.

The moose likes to look in my sunroom window, and the bear likes to frolic in our pond. :( Of course this doesnt impress the Koi!
(I love up in western NH, that view is Mount Monadnock)

How do you keep the bears from eating the Koi?

I have problems with raccons in my pond. I stopped paying 100 dollars a fish because of it and have just regular pond Koi now.. :(

When we had the pond built, we installed a horseshoe shaped tunnel, the Koi go hide in there, its too small for the predators to get them out. :)

Fantastic pictures people.

@ EricJ

Spent many a day down at the boardwalk which coincidentally happened to usually be school days after skipping out, jumping into the convertable truck of mine (gawd I loved that truck) and taking along a female companion.

Whaaaah! I miss it.

@ Logan

Great pictures. Where exactly is (dangit thread too long to look back and see how to spell Peniwhatever) that? Got a tickle out of the snow bank pictures.

@ Everyone

I\'m looking for a picture that has no buildings, roads, ect in the background that has a mountain, some rocks and lots of snow. Something \'wildernish\' so to speak. Got an idea on a photo that I want to do with some stomping Ogres I\'m currently painting up and I have YET to find a decent picture.

Anyone help a painter out? Heh! :)

Almost would work but not \'quite\' what I\'m looking for.

I think snow, lots of it, or almost everything being covered, would be a good shot and either mountains, hills or the sky taking up most of the background as long as modern technology doesn\'t show up in it (cars, roads, telephone poles .. etc). I could probably photo edit something out if I need to. No need for grass.

A fairly large picture would be nice to (I can take it in e-mail or MSN or something else if no one minds) so that I can edit it with the miniatures in it.

Thanks in advance!

FF, would this pic work? It\'s from a recent ski-trip, and while you\'d have to crop away Evan, it might work for your purposes....Sorry for the size, but you said you wanted it big. :D

So we have an agreement, Albert! You show me Barcelona when I\'m there, and I\'ll show you Moscow when you come to visit ;)

@ Nelson

That would be EXACTLY what I\'m looking for ... minus the gent in the gear (hah). I might be able to crop and do some photoshop work on him, not sure, but I\'ll have a go at it.

If anyone has anything else, simular or better, I would certainly appreciate it.

Thanks again Nelson, and to the rest of you in advance.

Sorry for the tardiness in replying. I\'ve been wiped out with a Sales Conference since Thursday.

The Pennines are a system of hills that run down the centre of England. There\'s a (friendly) rivalry between those of us on either side in Yorkshire and Lancashire (two counties) and I\'m in Yorkshire, hence the \'right side of the Pennines\' quip in my profile.

The rivalry goes back hundreds of years and has huge historical context in the history and make-up of Great Britain, Royal Houses etc, which wasn\'t always friendly to say the least.

I live on the hills in between Slaithwaite and Marsden, two small Yorkshire mill towns in the north of England.

Hope this helps and thanks for your interest in my little part of the world:D

A \'model\' industrial village built in the 19th century buy a local business tycoon (also a bit of a philanthropist and a religious nutter!). The textile mill was the most advanced in the world at the time, and he also built churches, hospitals and workers dwellings. Unfortunately alcohol was banned in the village, but pubs have sprung up since! The village is now a World Heritage Site!:)
