Well hun....your crowning masterpiece deserves better pics. :D

It's hard to tell but I see you already have lettering on the ribbons but I'm not sure about the shadow in the curves - but it could be the pics. The bird is something else! Is it a vulture?

It is indeed a vulture.
Here's some (hopefully) better pics - I had to use photoshop to get the colors closer to true. Ugh.

Looking good man, although I'd watch out if a woman like that walks up to you in a bar...

lol Meph tru that usually means yer in big trouble.:handcuffs:
the purpl and gold on the ribbons is good perhaps more spidery scrolling around the symbols, fiddly probably gonna need a single hair brush but i have confidence in ya.

Yay! I did good - there is no actual gold on the ribbons - it's something I borrowed from an awesome Yellow One mini - nmm thread LOL. Not bad for my first try.
Cass - I do have a really small brush, but the problem is the paint dries before I can get it on the mini. Not sure what I'm going to do about that. I'm trying to finish the sword so I can call this done.
Though looking at the base, I may have one more little sculpt ahead of me. Argh.

Your paint's dry before you reach the mini? I'd consider an alternative to commuting between your palette and your mini... or buy some retarder?

Retarder will help. But it depends on what kind of air flow you have around you. Do you have fans, an A/C unit or vent near you or in the room?

My work table is the kitchen table and there is absolutely zero air in here. It's fine in the winter but now that it's getting hot, I have to turn fans on or I'll die. Because of the fans, my paint dries too quickly. Retarder helps, but not as much as I had hoped. I bought a bunch of the little cheapo plastic paint pots for mixing large amounts of certain colors I want to keep on hand and discovered they work better for protecting my paints than anything else. I can mix my color and consistency to exactly what I need, paint directly out of them, and they keep my paint from drying too quickly. If I put the paint on a palette or my paper plates...it's done in a few minutes no matter how much water and retarder I add.

fairplay to trystan on this the golds do have a tendancy to dry quick i did some gold faff on the loincloth of my iltra smurf termi single hair brush but the paint did have a tendancy to thicken, i ended up doing about 2 to 3 mm at a time gently coaxing the paint into a thin line worked tho, kathy youd love it its really fiddly lol

you can just about make it out on this picture

Haha well the AC in my house does tend to cause paint to dry out a bit faster, even with a wet palette. But it's not paint in general, just that 3 molecules that I can fit on my tiniest brush. Dip it in paint, wipe off excess, touch to model - damn, it's dry already LOL

So I told you I needed more sculpting, right?

Well I decided that the base wasn't quite conveying what I wanted, and so I needed to add some visual clues.
Looks like poor Thumper met his last friend.

Wire and GS, took about 15-20 to cobble together.

dont know much on the background fluff for this chick but does she have the touch of death where she walks everything whithers and dies, just the scorch and burnt patch on the base and the half rabbit ???

Cass - looks like it worked. That's the effect I was going for. And I don't really know any fluff, if there is any. It's just what came to mind as I was pondering the base.

nice stuff indeed, but i have to say im not a fan of that static grass that much as it is now. imo, it need both a wash and highlight to look decent, and not just gaming table look...

Interesting point Skel. I'll have too see what I can do about that. It's my first time using that stuff, and I can see what you mean. Hmm.
