Wet pallet issue - proper care?

The instructions that came with mine actually encourage the use of boiling water for the initial paper soaking. I use a cookie sheet and pour the boiling water in it until the sheet is covered. When it cools down to room temperature, it is ready to go. I had mixed luck with mine like Gilivan until I did it this way, so maybe his paper is extra tough and just needs some tenderizing.
GW & VGC paints stay ready to use on mine for over a month (I painted at Christmas and then forgot about it until mid February).
The penny trick is based on copper toxicity, check aquarium sites for more info. Copper wire should also work quite well, though some ickys may not fall prey to it.

Wow I had no clue about that. Since I never actually bought the actual pallet, just the re-fill sheets (with one of those Michaels 50% off coupons) I had no idea.

That could be causing all of my problems.

Thanks Darkstar and DaGoz!

Update

Was going to post an update on Friday but there was no change from the previous day.

So, today is day six and the paint looks all pretty much as I remember it from last week. The palette was left over the whole weekend the same way - with the lid just laid over the opening, not closed down.

There\'s been some separation of the thicker paints, which always happens during storage, but other than that everything that was wet on Friday is still wet.
