If I had a do-over? Hmm.

I\'m still trying to get it right, the first time. I got another nice personal note from an editor last month, with encouragement to keep writing and submitting.

I\'ll get it right, one day!

Hmm - a toughie.

I guess I\'d want to be what it says on my business card - Photographer/Adventurer.

Oh, wait . . . . . . . lol

Well the important thing is.. its never to late in life to pursue that dream.. well swim suit model is out for Vike lol , but in most cases why couldn\'t one take courses to become what ever you want to be. In a world where were living longer and working longer, Even at 40, retraining means 30 years in a new carrier if you wish.
But at 50, that only leaves a couple of years for training then about 10 years of work and they have to pay your retirement. And contrarary to what everyone would like to believe, they do think about things like that come hiring time.

Which would you rather hire: a 20 something or a 50 something with no experience. You\'ll only average about 5-10 years of use out of either one, but the younger one will work for less and cost less on your insurance.

Dermatologist.

I\'d have to put up with all the school to be an actual doctor but that\'s what I would be.

Hollywood special effects.

You stole my re-do!

OOH! OOH! Me too! Me too! Can I sign up?!! Pre-CGI or post-CGI ... doesn\'t matter to me.

++++

True Story Time:

When I was in Highschool, back in the Regan era, I had one teacher who wanted me to go to art school, one teacher who wanted me to pursue writing, and another that wanted me to go into photography. However, since career titles such as \"Writer,\" \"Artist,\" or \"Photographer,\" usually have the word \"Starving,\" prepended to them, I took the advice of my Calculus teacher and got a degree in Computer Science and Aeronautical Engineering.

Today, I tell highschoolers, \"You want my advice? Become a plumber or (second best) a mechanic. The jackholes running (or ruining) the economy cannot outsource their toilets, or tow their overpriced, imported POS toys to a third world country.\"

Haha! That\'s what I wanted to do when I was in 6th grade. If I were to do it again, I\'d probably go to vet school...

1 of 2 I think.

Either my own gym and supplement shop or a shop related to one of my hobbies beit miniatures, video games, manga & comics.

If I move back to the UK I\'d definitely consider the police over a desk job too.

Computer game design probably, or animation. I always thought that would have been cool and I tried to get into it a few years back before coming to my senses and going to grad school.

Paleontology would be fun Jeff. Jeez, why not give it a try, at least to work in some aspect of it. It would be fun to go on some expedition, even doing grunt work. The PhD would take some time if you wanted that, but you only live once, right?

If I had my time over again I think I\'d go for the hardest and yet most rewarding job I\'ve seen.............Parent.

The hours suck, from what I hear :D

Anyway I\'m still finishing up my college degree (now a double major, with Comparative Literature added to the Psychology degree!) so I don\'t know if I\'m allowed to participate.

But I think doing custom furniture would\'ve been really fun. I always enjoyed woodworking in Industrial Arts class at school, and I\'m always pissed off with computer desks and entertainment center cabinet things not being the way I want them. Seems like a logical career move, since it would cut down the cost of furnishing my house/apartment/whatever immensely lol

On a slightly more serious note: I\'m really considering doing an Industrial Design program before going into grad school. Seems like something fun, and maybe I can pay the bills doing web design/graphic design while working away at my PhD.
