What career would you have chosen...

If properly funded...A Paranormal Investigator.
If I did not know I would be corrupted...A federal level Politician.
If they didn\'t make absolute crap pay...A cop.
FBI or CIA wouldn\'t be bad either.

In reality, if I go get another degree it will be in Mechanical Engineering.
Although, my state does have one of the best Veterinary schools and I\'d rather deal with animals than people any day.

I really don\'t know, I didnt make any sort of career choice\'s any way I just sort of fell into the job I\'m doing now and I love it.

I never had any idea of what I wanted to be and I still don\'t, what I\'m doing now suits my needs. Good money, fairly interesting, 9-5 so I get plenty of free time and just the right amount of responsibility and stress to make me know I\'ve been to work.

Big part of me still wishes I had gone to the US back in 1990 like I had planned and joined the Marines. :drunk:

Law enforcement also sounds pretty darn good about now. RCMP all the way there. :drunk:

Yup, I too wish I would have joined up with the Armed Forces of some sort. They give you such a head start in life (provided you can survive)...

Well, I can\'t speak to your situation, but I\'m 42 and just became a father. My older brother is 49, and his wife just had a baby. I\'ll admit, it scares the crap out of both of us to think we\'ll be in our 60\'s and 70\'s when our kids get done with school, but hey ... gives you a reason to stay fit. ;)

Personally, I don\'t think being a parent is something you\'re ever too old for, or too situationally disadvantaged for. Even if you cannot logistically have one of your own, there\'s always adoption, or there may be the possibility of becoming a foster parent, or there may even be opportunities to mentor through a local school, church or charitable organization.

Besides, I think we all have a duty to pass on our nerdy mad skills to future generations, by any means necessary. :D

Yep. But one word stops the eligibility.......................Cancer.
Even though she\'s through the worst of the treatment, we are permanently \"No Longer Elligible\".

We\'d have been pushing it in our 50\'s anyway. :D

If it\'s any consolation we all think of you as our \"cool dad\" ;)

Well I am studying medicine right now (8th semester) and it´s pretty good. It´s really something I always wanted to do - be a scietist, get to know things about the human body and its illnesses. Some time ago i visited an exibition about scyth archeology and maybe I woudl have done somthing like this insted of medicine, doing excavations in mongolia or russia, dicovering the secrets of a long-gone people - may be exciting.

Mike, I think you & Fran would have made wonderful parents. I\'m actually surprized that you had not adopted earlier.

Shiftless Drifter.

Every day a new adventure. Wandering into small towns and being rejected by
everyone, harrassed by the sherriff, only to save the day when something goes
horribly wrong.

Riding the rails and thumbing rides...

Yup. That\'d be the life, all right....

I should\'ve gone to school at WyoTech, in Wyoming when I had the chance. I want to re-build old cars into works of art.

I may still go, but it won\'t be for a few years. After all, I won\'t be able to build my \'67 Shelby Cobra without training, so... I gotta go!

Silax already posted mine:

Marine biologist - though it would have to be tropical marine biology. None of that cold water iceberg stuff for me.

After that, being a park ranger would be great. You get to live and work in a beautiful place and educate people about it.
