oddly enough I totally understand, I really really love his music, but when I share it with friends I wholely expect no one to like it. It\'s an aquired taste, it took me years to get into it and finally it clicked and I couldn\'t get enough. Rain Dogs is, imo, the best album ever made!!

Oh, yeah, and I travelled in India with a guy named Tim who did the gardening for Mr. Rogers (of WGBH\'s \"Mr. Rogers\' Neighborhood\" fame) at his Martha\'s Vineyard summer retreat.

and I served in the New Jersey National Guard with the nephew of the cowboy film star Tex Ritter.

Have I met anybody famous? Nope.

I regularly run into nationally known Danish politicians in the center of Copenhagen. Those people would only have any relevance for someone else familiar with Denmark, though, so I don\'t guess they count.

edit: and I had a crush in high school on a girl whose sister travelled with the Grateful Dead (yes, Shawn, I was a Deadhead, saw them about 30 times up and down the East Coast in the late 70\'s/early 80\'s, still listen to their music now and then...without drugslol). My sister, working room service in a Philly hotel (shut up, Markus!) met this girl some years later at the hotel after a Grateful Dead concert in town and was invited to party with the band after her shift was done. Did she go? No. Did she call me? No. Siblings.....

Met anyone famous? Not really. Once shook hands with Red Skelton and George Gobel. I did sit on the steps of Graceland in 1963 and talked to one of the guards in a pink jeep for a couple of hours. Saw Jimmie Henricks from top row at concert in early 70\'s and saw Elvis from row 2 in concert at Ft. Worth in \'74. He was gorgous. Had a classmate who got credit in a very bad Texas ChainSaw massace movie. Who else? Shook hands with J. Edgar Hoover of the FBI and William Casey of the CIA. Do they count? Oh, and my favorite..passed John Philip Law on the subway in Paris once.

I almost forgot, I was about thirty feet away from Sting just last night.

Of course, it was at a concert so I don\'t think that counts, otherwise I\'d be able to claim pretty much every rocker of the 70\'s-80\'s.

(I know, that was just a cheap way to brag, but it was A GREAT CONCERT!)

If you looked at all the people I mentioned earlier, most of them were native LongIslanders. It may be a BIG island, but it sure is a small world.

I \'met\' the following famous (I think) people while working in shops in Amsterdam:

Sting, Steven Tyler, Brian Froud, Alan Lee, Nwanko Kanu, Henrik Larsson (last two are football players), Brian May (btw, he used to go to GD\'s too..), Alanis Morrisette. (sp?) That\'s all I can think of now.

Oh yeah, and a whole lot of famous Dutch people too but you wouldn\'t know them anyway!

I have never met any one famous,
But my kids sister was pretty good friends with John Rastinberger (spelled wrong) AKA Cliff from Cheers He is a really nice guy, Lived on the same Island I grew up on, shopped in my moms store often.
Same with Tom Selleck for a while.

My husband has two claims to fame. He and his dad had lunch with Mick Jagger when is was a kid.
and he has some odd cousin (second cousin I think) that is married to Tony Danza :|~ and we were\'nt even invited to the wedding lol

Well, thats about it. Not much of a claim!

Hulk Hogan- mom used to garden at his house...his wife has REALLY long figernails
Betty Streater- wife to the man who invented the hack saw
I dont remember his name- but im godsister or something to the guy who was in the recent \"phantom of the opera\" in the movies...the one who played raoul *swoon*
Kirsty alley- when she was skinnier---she was a real jerk.

in other news, ive been considered someone famous...really!
My mom gardens for really wealthy people on the beach and one day i was sitting out on one of the aforementioned rich peoples docks doing my homework, along comes a dolphin/tourguide cruise, the guide looks at me, looks at the house, looks back at me and announces to his boat full of sunburnt tourists \"and right over there, sitting on the dock is Sylvesters Stalones daughter\" I proceded to get up and wave, and i got my picture taken a bunch cause of it.

When I was 17, I got to throw McKensie Phillips (One Day at a Time TV show) out of a bar for being a drunk obnoxious ass. Since then she has cleaned up, good for her!

I delivered room service to Floyd Patterson (famous heavyweight boxer). He was a very pleasent person.

Met LPGA golfer Pat Bradley, she was extremely nice and signed many autographs while she was at dinner.

Met Dr Ruth Wesheimer at college after a lecture she gave on campus. She was extremely polite and couldn\'t have been over 4\' 10\".

Met Steve Martin at an art gallery in Buffalo. Nice guy, and I felt bad because he was being pestered by a crowd of people while he was just trying to relax and enjoy the exhibits.

That\'s about it for me.

I was a zombie extra in a film called \'Shaun of the Dead\' Had a chat wiv its \'star\' Simon Pegg about Star Wars props looking crap close up, until his mate Chris Martin turned up and I found out his pet name for his wife Gwyneth Paltrow is \'Gwyneee !!\'

Oh.. and I had my picture taken with Brian Blessed dressed as a pirate

One time i saw MCA (beastie Boys) in the street, and he said hi to me.
Once saw Wynona Rider at the movies to see Quill.
Three weeks ago saw Iced-T across the street from a local GW shop.
