After a weekend aways I have come back and finished the mount, turned out quite blue in the end, not what I was going for so depending on how the rider turns out it might get lightened up to a whiter colour later. Saddle will be covered mostly by the rider so I am being lazy and not doing a proper job on it hehe. Base wise I want to base it but the guy I am doing it for has a base already done for her :(

I absolutely LOVE the hair detail on the mount and the rider. WOW!

The dreadfleet looks freakin' awesome! And much better pics too! Very nicely done!

I like the ghostly effect on the ship. Not sure if it needs more highlights, hard to tell.. hmm. I would put it away for a few days then bring it back out and see you feel about it with fresh eyes.

It has been a while since I last posted. Job hunting getting in the way. Unfortunately no success on that front, but that's another story. Finished 2 more dreadfleet ships. The elf ship, which has reinforced the idea that I hate painting white, and taught me some new things. And the Khemri ship, which was fun to paint. Lots of bronze and gold, actually tried to high light and shade the gold properly for once, didn't turn out to well but anyway it was fun to try. So learning lots of new things.
And my project is bought and ready for painting. Gonna give the ships a rest for a week or 2 I think. Inquisitor Cortaez and Supreme Grand Master bloke. Going to practice my NMM, gold has never been tried before and silver just for the practice. Hopefully it will work and I don't ruin the models. Though GW seem to have already done that with the Finecast stuff. Really really poor molds for these 2. To thin in places that the have holes in them, and a lot of flesh to clean of, horrendous mold lines as well. Am very disappointed in them. Oh well. On with the painting.

Hi Green! Looking very nice! The only thing I ask is to post larger photos - I can't see the detail. lol! The trireme type ship looks very nice! The only thing I would have suggested on the other ship would be to increase your shadows and highlights on the sails. They exactly match the tops of the tower things and that blends everything together. I love the dragons! :D

The reason they are small is to high the details! lol, so you can't see how bad they are. Actually is also cus my camera is naf and I can't seem to work out how to get decent photo's from it at the moment. Have read all the advice and things about taking photo's. Just trial and error for now. I will take larger photo's one day, but as I just entered these into a painting comp at my local GW store I no longer have them on me. I was expecting to not place but managed to get 1st place with the Elf ship (blue/white) and 2nd with the Dwarf ship (metalic one). This really shocked me, as I am really unhappy with the Elf ship. Luckily I am allowed to 'touch up' the ship before it goes of to the National comp. Which I fully expect not to get any where in but hey, it's all fun and games.

Thanks Kathryn
I have just done some work on Inquisitor Coteaz. This is the first time I have attempted to do gold NMM. I followed the article in an old WD. Now I am fairly pleased with the blending and highlighting I achieved on the model but it doesn't look all that gold to me. Can any one tell me how to make it more shiny so to speak. I think that the problem might be not enough on the highlights, they are quite small if you understand me. Shading covers a larger area. Any hints or idea's people? The hand with the eagle has not been done yet and it all kinda fell apart and needed a lot of green stuff work doing on it. Will do that tomorrow I think. Anyway, let me know what you think. The stage it is at now is the bottom 2 pics, it goes highlight, shade, extreme highlight, yellow wash, final highlight. Oh also a little game, see if you can spot the glaring mold line I missed....poo!

I hope you don't mind but it was easier for me just to snag a copy and circle the spots that jumped out at me. I think it's looking good but am definitely not the person to talk to about gold NMM. lol!
