Hi Greensam, nice blending on the NMM but it's not working for me as metal. Now I don't have much experience with this and accurate light reflections are hardly my strong point but I think the issue is that you're using two disparate styles.
For the NMM you need to decide where the light source is and only paint in highlights as appropriate. Instead you've used an 'Eavy Metal style edge highlighting technique.
As a model in nicely painted brown armour I think he works really well but that's obviously not the intention

Solution? I think tone back areas of highlight that are in shady areas. Push highlights to white in a more puddle type effect. Push some of the shading toward black. NMM seems to me to be very much about maximum contrast (or is it depth? Getting my terms muddled

).
A touch of olive green or a darker blue (eg Regal) glazed into the shading of the head will help to define flesh from the similarly toned brown armour.
