Women and money is it just me????

Renting has it\'s advantages in the short term, but you pay big time over the long haul. If you pay X dollars a month on your house now, in 25 years, if you don\'t pay it off early, you will still pay X dollars a month. There is little to no chance of that happening in the rent situation.
I wish I had come to this conclusion earlier, I could have owned my home by now.

I don\'t see the issue if she\'s going to pay off the card on Saturday.

Credit cards aren\'t evil, they can be very handy little buggers. The only problem is when someone with little or no willpower owns one ;)

Rent money is dead money! :D

men will spend £10 on a £5 item they need but women will spend £5 on a £10 item they don\'t need.

tis the way of the world.

by the way, i have a credit card but rarely use it. never go even close to my limit and always pay it off immediately. i only ever use it for transactions that are over my debit card limit or from those annoying places that only accept credit cards

I agree you are on a slippery slope. Once the credit card starts getting used for purchases it will be hard to stop. There is now a precedent. Next time she might need two pays to take care of the amount. Eventually it will be no different than any other credit card.

I know, we\'ve been through it with our \"emergency card\". It took a great deal of effort tostop taking the easy way out, putting stuff on the card, and paying for it later.

If the card is for emergencies, kepp it for emergencies, even if you keep it locked in the house.

Putting a hand up for the women here, we aren\'t all like that!

Credit cards are useful for a few things (a £10 top is probably not one of them though) - I always buy more expensive items on a credit card (even though i pay it off straight away) simply because you get a guarantee witht eh credit card company for those transactions. If the internet company goes tits up, or the transaction is queried, I can claim back from teh credit card company and they sort the rest out themselves.

I also use a credit card all of the time for work - I have to pay for hotels every week and claim back my expenses. There is no way I am going to be able to pay that out of my wages - I don\'t quite earn enough to have that much dispoable income!

Probably very late on this whole issue, but my point of view:

She carried the baby, went through labour, she\'s possibly suffering from Post Natal depression and you, like me, paint toy soldiers. Without wanting to sound like an A**e, I think theres a different perspective to be considered here.

Besides with what\'s hit my wife this last year, personally I\'d say shut up and treat her to a new top and shoes, you never know what\'s around the corner.
Remember Sh*t Happens to good people too.
