Work In Progress

good god Eric. . .

even with all the amazing work on this site which regularly impresses the hell out of me technically. . .this just floored me.

the color choice indeed is unique and wonderfully carried out. . . i must put a vote in for the dress.
even thought the reflective armour and skin tones are the grabberts, that dress is a knock out. it _really_ looks like satin. not just impressive paintwork on a shape sculpted to represent cloth. like mother#%$ing satin, right there in front of me.

okay, I\'ll stop gushing now. . . and just gaze.

They are GONE now....

Sorry, Eric.

There were evil gnomes with pitchforks here moments ago. They\'re gone now. I think.....

Seriously...I loved the base on the ghost maiden tons...but looking at the figures only...this is one of the best I have seen. The face looks like it couldn\'t possibly have been painted on a 28mm figure. The colors are great, the NMM is pretty too.

This will get lots of great votes on CMON. Probably some unfair sniping too...

Uh-oh....they\'re back. Gotta go......

Itchy, I think a blue may work, although I may just have blue on my mind. If you want it to stand out go with an accent color like that or green as TAB mentioned, otherwise you could go with a brown which would blend a little with the robe, of course also silver would look good...lots of options I think actually :)

PS @cfw it is actually a 54mm mini, so the face was a little bigger to work with, although I think I still spent about 4 hours on it alone :( But here is a reference shot so you can see its size (this shot was actually taken so I can have a 2d reference of an angle looking up at the mini for painting the reflection)

You know Eric, that is already my all time favorite painted figure I have ever seen before it is even finished. Please dont botch the base.

Itchy....how about a golden dragon to match the browns, otherwise green for me.

Well I got a lot of my assassin done last night and by 12 oclock I had double vision and the gold nmm trim sucked big time.I got up this morning ready to strip it and thought, hey thats pretty good actually.Must have been the eye gremlins at work.So heres another quick shot, let me know if its ok.
Im going for a secret agent/gistapo kinda look with a bit of a twist which you will find out when hes finished.
The black coat will have dark blue highlights then washed with many coloured inks to give a nice effect,I know what I mean. Also some freehand to match the gold trim on the undershirt will go on the inside of the coat in the bottom corner and some dusty weathering.

Ideas for something on the base would help.Ive got small flagstones sculpted and want just a little something.Maybe a crumpled wanted poster, that sort of thing.Nothing to elaborate cos its for Sacred Blade and I dont put anything major on the bases in case the customer thinks its part of the deal.

@Eric - that`s stunning. I must admit that even though I don` like SENMM it looks good on this model. My only point of criticism is blue on leg armour. IMHO the blue is too rich (that`s especially visible on the back shot).

@Klute - gold would benefit from some corrections :). the reds turned out really nicely . I think that high-tech style base would fit this model. maybe an armour plate or something ?

Brushlicker and Freak!
@ Itchy

green or maybe blue.

@ Eric

Holy.... damn! That looks awesome! Do the base now! :D

@ Klute

looks great to me, the only thing you could do is add some darker areas to the NMM gold, but I think it looks damn good like it is.

eric, That is very good. Judging from the paint on your finger, maybe you did finger paint it.
lol

itchy. too bad you had to follow that. It is like the act after the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.

@Klute - he looks great, I really like the use of colour \"under\" the black and on the sleeves to make him not just some tosser who watched the Matrix too many times ;) But he still looks \"gestapo-ey\" like you are aiming for.

@Itchy - glad to hear you\'re on the mend! Your wizard looks pretty good though that photo of his face ain\'t so hot. As for the dragon I\'d go with green, blue or aqua, just to contrast with the rest of him. I\'m not sure if that conflicts with any \"fluff\", I\'m just thinking of aesthetics here.

M
@Klute - I meant some darker shade of brown showing and some brighter highlight points to increase contrast and make it look more shiny :).

Thats cute Shawn:D
Ive been messing about with the greenstuff myself but Im not up to posting what Ive done.I did it over a dolly from ebob.

Ive changed the gold trim a bit on mine and given the coat some blue highlights and some more dramatic leather looking highlights ready for some funky washes.
Fingers crossed???
