Looking very nice Shawn,I like this technique.
Its not new though ,sorry.
Check out the articles,Kittykat32uk\'s Fluffy Wolfen.
She has been doing it years.
Not knocking you BTW,just thought you might want a look.

I use this technique for painting hair on flat sculpts.

Its not new though ,sorry.

I\'m not surprised. With the amount off stuff out there, a small fraction of which I have seen, I would imagine there isnt much \'new\' left. I\'ll have to check out some of what you mentioned.

It looks damn cool up close:D

I think its an excellent close up look.
I would be tempted to place some washes in areas.Red around the mouth and claws for blood, dirt on the feet/legs,urine around the groin would look cool.

Champion Of Chaos Undivided

Hello everyone! After my latest mini, which is pretty bad, i decided to push my limits with a new figure, and here he is after 4 hours (Normally, my mini at this time would be 90% complete):

champ35xn.jpg

Note, the gloak on his back is half highlighted, not even near read and the base isnt painted, its just colored glue to prevent it shining. All comments and suggestions are appreciatet and i\'d like to get some feedback how to improve.

Thanks, Rhode.

@Rhode that cloak is looking very nice and very smoothly blended keep it up.

After my recent gruelling session on my mini exchange piece I am now returning to something a little less intense. I intend this as e-bay fodder so the level of painting will not be up to the Orc\'s standard but I still hope to do it justice for whoever ends up owning it.

Anyway here it is in its very early stage,

ArbitesJudgeWIP002.jpg

I am going for the classic arbites look but I will probably do the coat a different colour as I do not want too much black in the final figure.

Heres the concubine all but based and Akanke the harem guard.Feedback on the sheer effect on her pants please.I think it needs more blend and some washes.?

She looks wet more than sheer to me, to be honest, we either need to see less through the trousers, or more through the bits that aren\'t touching her skin, if that makes sense.

A picture of a Commission piece I\'m working on alongside the Scrap launcha.

It\'s about the third Werner Klocke sculpted piece in a row, and I\'m really beginning to become a real fan of his work both for Reaper and Freebooter.

And yes that\'s a Groundforge base.
The finalpiece will include either some foiliage and/or some snow around the slate.

@Dragonsreach: I really love that face! great smooth, warm skin colour! I might do the irises a bit larger and more round, that\'s all.

Umm, I hate to say it, but I think that is a moldline running across the front of the crossbow. I didn\'t know if you missed it or not, but hopefully it should be easy to fix. The face is looking great.

2 WIPS for a friend the emporer champ ios his friend or his brother... and the DA lord is for his army both are painted to a gaming standard as requested (1 more highlight on the emps robes and finish the purity seal... the black cross is first attampt at freehand on a mini such like that) (fnish the face on the DA)

DR, awesome work on this one so far, I do agree with Avelorn that the iris\' look a touch small and...snake-like (or cat like I suppose).

well after a couple weeks of serious painters block, I managed to break out of it by indulging in a freebooter mini for fun, and she\'s flying by, after just 5-6 hours she\'s getting there! but now it\'s too hot and it\'s making my paints dry too fast, but hopefully I can finish her soon.

feedback would of course be great!! the major part not done is the fur, and I think it\'s going to be that base coat lightened up to bleached bone at the tips :)

Thanks.

I do all my devourer eyes like this. Think th eglint makes for a more evil look.

But as for the best, well I\'m not too sure about that. Just look at the eyes on Eric J\'s mini a couple above this. Just as nuch detail and they are smaller:eek:

But knowing that flash git they are not finished yet:D

I love that mini! I have one on my shelf waiting for some attention. You seem to be doing a great job of yours... hardly surprising :innocent:

@James9487: Yep that\'s the joys of taking a photograph of something this small and blowing it up, all the bits you\'ve missed show up. :D
I\'m glad that I did do a WIP as the moulding line doesn\'t show under the painting light.

@EricJ: Yeah the Irises do look a little small in the photo. something else to work on.

Thanks for the comments.
