Well, I wanted to get some input on this mini since I\'m still working on it...
This is the.. *counts on fingers* technically, my fourth time doing non-metallic metal, and my second time doing nmm gold.
Anyways, is this looking right? I had to do some major tweaking in photoshop to get the colors balanced (using a yellow light to take pictures = bad, bad, bad), and also I made myself one of those gradient backgrounds. Any input?

@james9487 - you could do far worse than trying to paint just like Alexi. Whatever else I may think of her, she is an amazing painter. I take it this is the mini you\'re trying to \"clone\"?

No Such Agency-- the gold does look like it needs some more darker darks, but doesn\'t look bad. The nmm on the armor on his legs is great. And I love the color on his cloak.
As for my mini, yeah, it\'s going to have some bright blue around the headpiece there, and some white.... though I need to find some reference photos before I get too far... but hopefully the colors will stand out a bit more as I continue.

@James9487 Yeah I\'ve seen hers. The yellowish look comes from the snakebite and white 50/50 (around there) so perhaps you should go over the light parts with that mix watered down, then re-highlight using white but only in veeeeery small streaks... I think it looks good how it is though lol

Silverwheel - nice colours there, and nice effect overall.
James - Lysette is looking really nice so far, no shame in cloning minis i\'ve done it many a time before, the nmm on the sword and hilt is extremely realistic.
angus147258 - I love that conversion, wheres the head from, intersting because i may also want to you it in conversions in the future. oh and calgars gold armour trim is painted over black.
Katana_Angel - The skin is my favorite part so far, you hae quite a subtle way of painting and it creates a smooth look which is really nice, i feel the gold may need more white highlights though to bring out the full metallic look to it.
NSA - i think the silver mm is perfect, but as already stated the gold may need some deeper contasts.

I am trying to get through a bit of painters block so am working on a couple of minis at a time to try and break it. They have been shown before but at a slightly earlier stage.
Hopefully the view of the Templar will show you how I intend the blue to look.
The Inquisitor Arbites Judge is my second serious attempt at nmm so hopefully I will get a little closer to making it look reasonable.

@angus147258 it is difficult to judge him with the size of the image but I would say he wants a little more highlighting on the skin.
As to what part to do next just go with what you feel like doing, that is the way I normally approach my minis, usually that way everything just falls into place.

Tidoco - Both looking sweet at the moment, i agree with levdir those blues really do look nice.
Angus - it is a bit of a small photo, but it still looks very good, the skin seems smooth so far.
and from me, Calgar has know had his dangly bits painted lol, and the emblem on his shin.

@angus147258: oh - you are working on Asgarh as well . Looks great as far as I can see it in the small pic - but as the others said - maybe a bit more highlights would do him well.
