Damn wish I\'d know about this earlier I could have put a zombie head in your scarecrow package...

Cool diorama idea, can\'t wait to see it finished.

Here is what I spent the evening doing, getting this conversion started. I got this Hasslefree ogre when it first came out and was on ebay before they had an online presence, but have been afraid to paint it. My original conversion idea was to put him on the old Grenadier War Rhino, but those legs aren\'t going anywhere, so i came up with this instead. Massive barbarian genetic freak with a huge maul (kind of inspired by the one used by Thorgrimm in the first Conan movie). Sculpted on some hair and took a maul from a Dragonrune ogre (still need to do the bottom half of the handle obviously). Still need to get rid of some mold lines and put his shield on. Oh, and anyone familiar with my work should know that the over-sized nature of the maul does not concern me at all :)

The bigger, the better eh? :D
Nice conversion! Give us some updates on it when you have started painting!

Pretty neat, primeval. But i have a complaint about the hair, though. Now it seems that you\'ve just put some GS on his back and sculpted the strands of hair into it. You could make a bit more dynamic hair by sculpting the larger bundles of hair first and then adding the individual hairs. Check out this and few following pics in Ramon Laan\'s tutorial: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/pjlehtim/maalaus/ramon/sculpting/img36.html

(it\'s probably available through Ramon\'s own page as well, but I haven\'t got the address.)

Other than that, your mini looks good. Nice pose and all that. :) \"Hulk smash!\"

I have few pics I\'d like comments as well:

I\'m having trouble with the skulls\' glowing eyes. I\'ve read Cyril\'s article but the glow just doesn\'t seem right to me. Any ideas what I\'m doing wrong?

Here\'s an another one. Any comments appreciated.

Thank you Day! I am certainly no expert on sculpting, and you are right about how I did the hair. I will check out the tutorial as I have another conversion that I need to do hair for, and I would like to make it more dynamic.

Sounds like poly board (or foam board). No idea where to get it from, but I\'m sure I can find some somewhere.

Shaz

you can get it from office world, staples and the like. about £10 for four 30cm squares i think. nice stuff to work with. if a little expensive

@Trevor - Thanks for the offer mate. My original idea was to have the harem girls throat cut will blood spilling down between her breasts and a blood stained cloth on the floor by the feet of the ringmaster, but I was too scared I would ruin the figure when I slice her neck to get her head lolling back.

@Freakinacage - Thanks fella, I\'ll have to have a look about (might go to the London Graphics centre).

Just give it a slit look by only painting it \"à la Cyril\" :).

This is (supposed to be) the Leader of -> this <- bossmob :)
i hope i can finish him today or tomorrow, only the axe and the skin are still bare

maybe i\'ll add some final highlights to the chess squares

the metallics took ages to coplete, most are with over 20 layers of washes and glazes for the weathering/rust effect

tell me your opinion!
cheers, josh

Yowzas that ork\'s looking good. Well, i\'m cameraless right now, hoping for a new camera for Chrsitmas, and limping by on one of those freebie cameras they give you for switching internet services... hope i don\'t get banned for this horrible picturelol
goblin.bmp

For those without an over active imagenation it\'s Reaper\'s Goblin Sargent with his helmet dremeled off, a wool beani sculpted on and he\'s at the foot of some stairs (with one foot on the last stair and the other in the air over the ground) weilding two knifes. Other than the new beanie and a few fixed details, he\'s all Reaper\'s work... they did a really nice job on this goblin, all i did was turn him into an assassin. Off to paint, no worries, i wont post the real pic of him untill i have a camera (recon\' this one would pull in a 2 MAYBElol)

NMM on a war hammer?

Hey all,
I\'m just getting back into painting after a 10 year hiatus. I never was a great painter but I decided to do this as a xmas present for my sister who bought the dwarf many years a go. I\'d like to do this dwarf\'s armor and weapon in Non Metallic Metal, but I\'m hitting a brick wall despite reading all the NMM articles on the site. The actuall warhammer is giving me the most problems (can you tell from the pic...sheesh). The final diorama will be the dwarf fighting the troll below. I\'ve highlited the troll, I have yet to highlite the dwarf, just working on putting on base coats and starting on the highlights for the metal. I\'m struggling to finish this for the holiday so any and all help will be appreciated! Even if you can point me to the pics of some minis with similar weapons done in NMM. Just post it here or pm me or email me at dfloss at gmail.com Thanks! -dfloss

Elf Bust

I got the idea from Dragonsreach on ipaintminis\' if you could sculpt anything thread.

Here is the initial sketch:
ElfeBustSketch.jpg

And the WIPs:

The chest may seem big for the while, but it\'ll be covered by the armor later.

@dfloss : Have a look on Rackham\'s site, all the metals are NMM. Sorry, can\'t explain more by writing. Try to ask at you local store. Maybe they can show you.

Thanks freakinacage :). I\'m slowly getting the hang for the eyes. Luckily GS (the putty ;)) puffs up a bit when it dries and hides the mistakes :).
