Have you finished the belly? IMO it would look better if you painted it to look a bit more diseased and putrid, I think it looks abit clean for a chaos warrior of nurgle.

Wait, really?

uh.... yeh....... green toes aint normal ether.. you might wanna get that checked while your there too.... as for the mini lookig good!...

BTW... what do you use for clear coat for protection?.... my nurgle marine (WIP proj nearing completion) seems to have a problem with paint rubbing off on edges (yes its primed).. im patching em up and blending em in again tonight... but how do i do a clear coat so its not all glossy and looks like its not even there and its just the paint?

aaah, paint rub, an eternal problem.

What I do is use brush on GW \'ardcoat to protect painted areas (just a thin coat and make sure its dry before continuing).
Then when the mini is finished, a spray with humbrol matte varnish dulls everything down. (Testors matte is supposed to be the best, but I can\' get any here...).

Thats what I do.

OK... emagine this guy
14095_G.jpg

without the helmet or chin strap. Instead i gave him a beani (to be painted black as if he\'s on a midnight raid). He\'ll become the goblin assassin i never had (thank\'s Reaper!) but what should i do for the base? The ONLY thing that came to mind was cobble stone???

Sorry for the lack of pic, i\'m cameraless right now:(

@Itchy: cobblestone seems a good idea, another one may be a little piece of diorama like a stair and a wall, or a window... maybe with the goblin standing outside it on the label...

I don\'t often do Work In progress pics, as I get too engrossed in what I\'m doing. But here\'s a couple of things I\'ve been working on:-

DSCN1686.jpg

My first ever Facial sculpt, I used Fimo and followed the concepts outlined in Katherine Dewey\'s book on sculpting figures. (Good Book, definitley worth getting a copy!)
The face isn\'t to bad as an Ogre, it\'s just a pity I was going for an Elven look. (You can laugh it\'s OK)

Creedface.jpg

This guy has been sitting on my desk giving me the \'Baleful eye\' since February when I got hold of him. Since I was at a point where I could start whatever I wanted I decided to go for him. I painted him this far on a Sunday afternoon in about 4 hours.
He\'s done in Vallejo paints. Brown Sand, Medium Flesh, Beige Red mix over a very thin coat of Bestial Brown. Shadow tones are via thin washes of Burnt Cadmium Red and highlights are with Basic Skintone added to the base mix.

DR that Usakar Creed is awesome the skintones are so lifelike, I love the scar running down his face.

This is what is currently taking up my attention though I have several projects on the go

EtruscanWIP.jpg

I thought that I would go back to my roots so to speak and do a Historical mini.
This is an Andrea 54mm scale Etruscan Warrior circa 700 bc.

@Wolf_fang, DR and Tim: Very promising so far, all of you! :)

@DR
I second Tim\'s comments on that face! Very lifelike! Makes me want to try something in larger scale so I can give that much attention to a face. In 30 mm scale, I\'m happy if I can just manage to pick out the facial features properly. Trying to do more than that is often futile...

@Tim & Anders: Thanks for the feedback.
I must admit that the face felt a little daunting at first, but once the initial basecoat went on it just started to \"pull together\".
After Ursakar I\'ve got the Kal Jericho bust as well. But he can wait for a couple of other projects to be done.

Tim, that Etruscan warrior is looking a rather unusual piece and I\'m looking forward to seeing more of it. Are you going to continue posting WIP shots?

Anders: If you fancy going for a bigger piece then the Forgeworld busts are great.

@ DR yes I will post more pics as I get further on with it. It is on hold at the moment as I need to experiment with some fleshtones to get a more natural look to them. The mantlet and helmet are a little brighter in the shot as the light is reflecting back off it.
I am trying to get a more bronze type look to it but I am quite pleased with the result so far.

ritual thanks for the comment... all the nurg marine really needs (thats in my ability so far) is a bit more shading and a little blending so its almost complete...

@Wolf_Fang
May I suggest that you apply a few lighter highlights on the uppermost edges of the shoulderpads, helmet, knepads, etc.? Those areas where light coming from above would make an extra glint.. I think that would make your mini a bit extra striking! I like your green colours! :)
