Works In Progress II

@NSA: I\'d try and give it real dark brown washes on select areas (hands, his right ribs...) , then picking out the details again with your bone colour... but that\'s just me.

OK, guys I\'ll do that, thanks! I wanted him to look quite dirty since he\'s just crawled out of the ground, but not be just a mass of mud :D

also...

NSA - Also for the eye sockets, a couple brown washes, and then a very thin black wash for the deepest part. The eye sockets would be very dark...i think you would need a very dark grey or black for that effect.

Hi Gang

This is the first time I have tried a white undercoat.

The colours look much better but im struggling with the black lining.

Is the colour scheme okay?

boyzie: He looks pretty good. Maybe that black line in the folds of his skirt is a little heavy. Remember a light-coloured cloth might not cast such strong shadows. The colour scheme is fine, it\'s okay for it to be a little \"weird\" because he\'s a weird guy!

That base, I\'m not so sure about. It looks like splintered particle board and I\'m not sure it\'ll ever look like anything else... no way to know but to try I guess.

hes right it looks good,... as for splintered particle board... thats a danged lie! all you gotta do is paint water flowing down it then put a high gloss on the water.... make it look like the start of a water fall or something :D

Boyzie--You might consider \"blacklining\" with a dark brown instead of straight black to help cut down on the stark contrast between the black and white. The color scheme looks fine to me. Yellow and purple work.

After recovering from the cold and retaking some exams :/ I`m back on the track, trying to catch up and finish some paintjobs.

While I don`t like this model I have to admit I`m quite satisfied with how it`s turning out, mostly because I like Menoth`s color scheme.

Amazons - Need Help

This is my first time posting on the WIP forum, but thought it might be a good idea to get some pointers. I am new to uploading pictures to a forum, so if you can\'t see these, I\'ll post again soon, and hopefully it will work. This is one of the first minis I ever tried painting; a set of three Amazons. I became VERY frustrated with them, and ended up ripping off their heads and arms, thus..... no heads and arms. Any and all comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

We\'ve all heard that before.... or at least I have.... :D ;)

Try resizing the image then posting again. A quick and dirty way is to put it out on photobucket. That server will resize it for you.

Cheers,

@ToMaZ: first I gave it a basecoat of vomit brown mixed with a tiny drop of regal blue, then I`ve started highlighting with bleached bone and finally with skull white.

Why would you ever worry about NMM, when your metals are as good as they are??

Great looking dude, btw.

Thanks guys,

Yes Scott the bases arrived this morning, they should keep me going for a while. Are you planning to do cavalry bases especially larger scale ones as I could do with one for my Ogre Thunderlord.
