Mix more and more BB+White into your current colour and go up to pure BB+White. Apply several, thin layers.

And yet more progress, I still have some detasiling to do and some smoothing out to do also but that will all be taken care of before the final pics are up.

I also have a back banner pole which I am debating using mmm I think I will do it separately and if it goes well then I will use it.

Yes, that looks a lot better! I still think you could take the highlights a bit further (BB + White) and maybe deepen the shadows a bit in some areas (contrast is important with NMM), but since I can\'t see the mini in real life I can\'t really say how much. But you\'ve definitely made it look more metal-like than it was before.

** i agree its improved, but it still looks incredibly yellow, and i think more browning, and depth of colour would help this as mentioned above

@40kdark angel

your gold looks good from what i can see, its more of a dull gold, which in my opinion suits the battlefield, nice pretty shiny gold looks funny sometimes

Hello everyone.
I\'m a newby in the world of Historical Miniatures and this is my first ever 54mm. This is also an experimental process as this is the first mini (or any kind of painting) I will be using oils for.

I went out to the art store and purchased two oil paints: Winsor and Newton artist oils Ivory Black and Titanium White and these will be painted on my new model.

I will be painting pegaso model\'s 54mm European Knight (Late 13th C.). It\'s an amazing model and I highly recomend it.

I\'ve assembled and primed the mini so far and will begin the painting process shortly (3-4 days?)

P.S.
I\'d just like to clarify that this is my first ever 54MM MODEL. I\'ve been painting for 2 years now.

Started converting a warmachine warjack yesterday, and while the GS was drying I started painting Irusk his head.
This is how it turned out, only it\'s lighter in real life:

Finally measured all the sizes of my \'mini\' tank hull. Here is what the general shape will be, minus tracks. Just waiting for the tank tracks from Texas so I can cut the wood accordingly. Then I will cover it in plasticard so I can paint. Wooo, this is fun.
I think this project is a little bigger than I initially thought and more expensive.
Beneath the rear of the gun I am going to insert a command center and the engine room.
Project Totals:
Hours invested:25
Headaches:2
Accidental breaks of parts:3
Good repair jobs on accidental breaks:2
Cost:$80-gun, $50-tracks, 2*4s:freebie, Oak side armor-$15

Did the reds on my Black Templar Marshall today. I fought I totally messed up the cloack, but a glaze of VMC Hull Red made everything okay again:) I\'ll get some real pics on sunday, together with the other stuff I did the past 9 months.

giant-wip.jpg

giant-kinda-done.jpg

I converted this Giant for a Giant Olympics competition. Yet another one of my slightly awkward pins. This had to be done the second that I saw the cow with its legs strung together on the sprue!

The painting isn\'t finished yet. I need to do the man hanging from the chain, tidy a lot of bits up and add some freehand designs to some of the fabric patches. I tried out Klute\'s skin painting tutorial from ages ago and it worked out pretty well, but took forever on this huge figure.

Unfortunately the deadline date is here so for now he\'ll sit in a cabinet until the thing\'s over and I can finish him off.

Thought I might as well post him here and get a bit of feedback before I go at him again.

@40kdarkangels Your mini is looking good, but the photos at such close range that they are very unflattering.
Crop em and reduce the size. Its much easier to see.

@jambot13 Wow Wow that giant is so dynamic, I like everything about it. Excellent

That Giant is excellent both in conversion and paintwork.

I can\'t quite work out what he\'s holding in his hand, is it cloth???

Wow!

You really should enter the giant into Golden Demon this year... if this is the unfinished stage, the finished would be simply marvellous. Whether he is in olympics or not, this is very dynamic and he could be just as well crashing into a peasants\' parish town as he could be competing in the long jump :D great work, the painting and sculpting is amazing, keep it up!

P.S. pictures of my WIP, Cathayan Dragon, here: 115093
I don\'t know how to post the actual photos on the forum, can someone help? Thanks!

@marmoset The easiest way to post pics in the forums is by using one of the many online photo sites such as \"photobucket\".
Upload ya pics on here and then they providea linking url which you can use in the message posting form.
