Here are the results to designate the spot where the next World Expo will be held :

Switzerland, Montreux - 21
Italy, Udine - 14
Italy, Catania - 10

And 6 clubs didn\'t vote.

Get ready to eat some serious chocolate ;).

apparently every year montreaux holds a freddy mercury memorial festival. is the inspiration to led zepplin\'s smoke on the water .
famous residents include: Bill Gates and Shania Twain.

Okay THAT´S really cool... I have never dreamt of seeing Freddy Mercurys Statue once in my life (Montreux, wtf...), but now I will...:)... I am very, very happy, since I consider myself the biggest Queen fan on Earth...:D...

There was no North American proposal, it may be theoreticaly \'drivable\' but it\'s still a bloody long way. Switzerland is very expensive!

Better start saving now...

Apparently, something like 90% of Europe could fit into Canada. I\'d be very happy if so many countries were that nearby, here, most provinces take hours of flights to get to from almost anywhere.

Oo I started saving right after the last expo, I\'ve got about $500 so far. :)

@PegaZus : for now there are no competition rules posted (but it\'ll probably be the usual Open system)

@Alex : you also have to take into account that things (food, lodging, ...) generally cost more in Switzerland than in Spain. That was the main argument against the site. But on the positive side, it\'s central for Europe, the site looks great, and it is slightly bigger than the 2008 site.

It will be on the cheap for me for sure, taking my own food and sleeping in a youth hostal or crappy hotel at the best. (unless i win the lottery or get a decent job). Also, no flights for me, i will most likly drive, especially if i can get a car full.

think i will pass on this one switzerland is way to expensive i would rather spend my money at the uk conventions your looking at £300-400 just for a basic hotel. Not for me this one
