is it good?

well it\'s an ok game, the experiance varies a lot though, depending on who you know that plays. i personally think it\'s fun till your character gets to low 50s then becomes a chore but others reckon that\'s when the game starts.

i don\'t know what the monthly cost is in american dollars probably around $20 ish i\'d guess.

you can get trial versions of it from places like EB cheap ($1) and each copy of the game comes with free trials for friends so if you know someone with a copy they may still have a free trial.

be warned it\'s like computer crack. it works on the just another 5 mins principle and they add up real quick to losing a year of you life.

lmao, my dad can agree with that, when he gets in from work to when he goes to bed, he loves itlollol

It will cost you your SOUL!!! Dont do it..

They don\'t call it Warcrack for nothing..

Otherwise I think its like $15.00 a month plus the cost of the game...

Nod and smile, nod and smile. That\'s what I do when anyone talks about Warcrack. It\'s what your friends and family will be doing too, Yetie, if you touch that poison.

I never found the appeal of WoW. I hear how people sacrifice everything to keep playing but I just turn it off.

Now Star Wars: Galaxies on the other hand...

I found it insanely boring, my brother bought it and got a month\'s free trial. He quickly became bored and gave the account to me, I played 3 weeks of the free trial and decided that I wasn\'t paying to play this utter crap. The whole thing is just based on stupid repetative tasks which get boring very quickly. I just can\'t understand how so many people can get addicted.

The only upside was that I was a gnome and it looked funny when I jumped.

Thats it! Thats what I was looking for. I find grinding the same monster again and again and again and again for a week to gain one level, utterly pointless. At least in SWG I could be a class that didnt rely on killing everything in sight to level up (droid engineer ftw)

wiccanpony

 yes...... I play, my main wiccanpony of Darkspear is lvl 48. :) mostly late at night when I can\'t sleep. It\'s around $77 for six months (a bit cheaper that way).

Death to the Hordes!!!!!!lollollol

p.s. runescape and The Kingdom of Loathing are the other online games I play.

Well apart from failing eyesight heres the other reason you havnt seen Nomis around for a long time - adictive - hell yes!

Anf forget the grinding - its all about interaction with other players that make it so much fun.

Im only on here at the moment because any links to WOW related sites get blocked at work - im just like rogue trader\'s dad - driving my wife to despair!

Love you all

My wife has played WOW since it first came out and it was only about 6 months ago she finally dragged me into it. It\'s ok but it gets old fast for me. The expansion is useless to new players other then allowing for 2 new races, as the rest of the new content is only accessable by level 60 toons and up.

It runs about $32 every 60 days if you buy the 60 day cards. Personally i say don\'t buy the game unless you like dedicating alot of time to your character and you like interacting with people. Me, i rather hate the game because after level 20 you must group with other people to due much of anythign and well... i hate social interaction with the people in the game.

hmm, well where to start this game cost me 2 years of my life.

if you have in anyway an addictive personality, dont play this game you will lose friends , relationships, and possibly your job , i managed to hang on to my job, but suffered with the previous 2.

the addiction, well for me came from the endgame material raiding content, i strived always to have the best equipment possible this becomes neccesary if your guild wants to stay on the forefront of the great server pve progress race. my problem is i tried to be in the best guilds and always wanted my character to be the best it possibly could. most raids last approx 4-5 hours with serious guilds requiring you to attend at least 4-5 of these each week. to keep up that level of raiding you need to farm lots of mats for consumables(or start paying real money for wow gold and buying consumables needed from auction house), already this becomes a vast time sink add to this the pvp arena and the bg to get da pvp epix this can quickly spiral out of control, and without decent gear you cant succesfully pvp, wow is a gear dependent game without it no matter how \"skilled and leet you are,you will be getting wtf pwned\" get used to that sort of language as well particularly on the pvp servers.of which 90% of the community are total dicks, maybe not so bad on the pve and roleplaying realms i didnt ever spend to much time on the \"care bear servers\"

having said all that though if you have good self control and a totally different wow gaming philosophy than myself, then maybe you can get something not totally self destructive out of it :)

31 days clean :D

It was like that when I played Diablo II...now that was just repetetive but I wanted to get the good equipment to make some of the character builds viable, particularly some of the more unusual ones. Never did, however, and just couldn\'t beat all those who had used hacks and such to play (what\'s the point in that?). Still, at least it was free financially to play. WoW, though, I haven\'t played. My computer would have seriously struggled with it. Got to keep adding to my new computer fund.

Meh... I tried it for a week and found it boring, and slow.
I\'m more of a City of Heroes guy myself. (After getting movement powers (teleport, super speed, flight, or super jumping) every other RPG just moves too damn slow.)
I\'m a little tired of fantasy genres.
I will try out Warhammer Online and the 40K RPG they are talking about.

and as for the poster who has some very fuzzy memories of swg, hologrind, endless runs of killing sharnaffs to get xp then cash/or mokks janta if you were combat class, endless searches for the various metals/minerals etc for crafting, then the daily chore of collecting said materials from the harvesters. well this was all long before swg was turned into a fps have no idea what its like now, just before i quit swg we were pretty much using the game as a chatroom with swg skin,

When I played SWG I never once saw a player owned vehicle. It was the most godawful thing I\'d ever experienced. All you could do was run or pay for a transport. It was EQ with a SW skin and horrible mechanics.

Think prequel trilogy minus even the occasional bit of fun, and that was SWG for me.

Meh - I visited my friend a few weeks ago, and was almost completely ignored such was the addiction.

@WP- I play runecape too, but I must admit that too can get annoyingly repetitive.

I mourn the loss of Planetside\'s free sub. :(

I haven\'t played it yet, but I know there is a ten hour free trial on the net. Just look at their web page.

Good hunting:)
