then why dont you say that

but no....you have to go and call it some funky name so that everyone else in the world has no idea of what your saying and then they get these weird images of englishmen eating black crap. its not very plesent. so then why dont you say

\"i enjoy a good hamburger.\"???

[end rant]
I think the funkiness of the names must be proportional to the funkiness of the tastes... or conversely lol

@ipaintminis...

Black pudding is a type of blood sausage (with the usual chunks of fat thrown in to taste), kind of a crumbly, coagulated blood texture when cooked. I\'ve just made myself feel sick....

So, if we\'re on the \"what the hell is...?\" thing, I have to know, what the hell is... spotted dick lol and is it in any way related to \"Bob\'s your uncle\" :D

Crab. In under a week I will be eating freshly caught (caught by me btw) crab. will louging around the pacific ocean. God bless the west coast. Of course if you ask me In two weeks i\'ll probably be so sick of it I would rather eat a bowl of dirt, but hey! Lamb is also great, and a juicy steak is equally good. Basically I\'m a carnivore!

and what\'s wrong with raw fish? It\'s yummie, the dutch have been eating raw herring for centuries....(freshly caught, bit of pickle and onion...mjam!god i miss that)
Raw fish or being close to minis, hard choice isn\'t it. Perhaps you could talk one of the Dutchies to bring a pot of \"rolmops\" when they go to GD? :D

I\'m such a nerd

I love hamburgers. Big ones, with fries and onion rings and a milkshake. There is a place by here that has hand-shaped patties, teriyaki sauce, pinapple, mayo, and more pineapple, all on a wheat bun. They serve it with the freshest salad, home-made dressing, and these fries that have like three different seasonings on them.

And then there is In \'N Out burgers. If you ever get a chance to try them (they are only in Southern California, I think) it\'s worth every penny. It\'s even worth the trip out here!

<running>
<door slam>
<tires peeling out>
<honking sounds at the local In \'N Out>

Sushi...oh my I do love sushi. Parking my butt at Yo! Sushi on Paddington station waiting for my train is wonderful...also like going to Wagamammas. Don\'t think I\'ve tried Sashimi though....???

Spotted Dick is steamed Suet pudding with Sultanas and served with lashings of hot Custard.

Why it\'s called Spotted Dick I don\'t really want to think about....:eek::eek::eek:

My, but one question just seems to lead to another. I know what steamed Suet pudding is and lashings of hot Custard, but what are Sultanas?

Like Raisins but from a white seedless grape. (not quite as Dry either!)

Ambrosia Custard *Drool*, Treacle Toffee Pudding *Drool Drool*

Mind you we\'ve been eating \'Shahi Kulfi\' latley, which is an Indian style Ice Cream, with Saffron, chopped Pistachios, Cinnamon, Cardamon served on top of Fresh Strawberries................Yum Yum or even Yowza Yowza!)

Ahem......this may help clear things up a bit...

Raisins include two very distinct products namely currants and sultana raisins (sultanas).

Currants are produced exclusively in Greece while sultana raisins are produced and in other parts of the world. The main producing countries of sultana raisins except Greece, are Turkey and the U.S.

Currants are black grapes that are dried under the sun and consumed mainly as dried fruits in food and sweets or alone.

Sultana raisins are grapes of a white-blonde color which are dried, treated and then consumed either as food additives or mixed with other dried fruits.

Thank you both DR & Tooshy. That does clear it up. I knew I\'d heard of Sultanas before, just couldn\'t place them. If it wasn\'t for a rather unfortunate name, it sounds pretty good.:D I jsut wouldn\'t want to be wwandering aruond here asking if anybody knew where I could get some spoted dick. The results may be unforunate:( Then again, they might be fun, too ;)
