Ork Freebooter Captain

Not happy with the picture quality on this guy but hopefully you get the idea here. I love these old GW orks and wanted to paint it up in a style that befits its heritage, thus comically bright colors. Since its a game piece I needed to add a moon icon somewhere on him (since he's part of a Bad Moon army) so I decided to paint the face that tops off the banner as a moon phase. The banner itself and the topper were sculpted by me. The whole model is a foray into freehand paint-work and I'm not disappointed with the results but I still need a lot of practice :)

i meant made with photoshop and printed out. it has that too-much-aa look that i'm sure you see in a billion portfolios everytime you hire :) if it's possible, i would redo the banner. it really is the low point on an otherwise gorgeous figure.

It just isn't painted all that well, and the curves of the banner itself may have interfered with my auto-focus of my digital camera. No, the banner face has not been retouched if that is what you mean. I do professional retouching, and I'd hope I could do it more convincingly than pictured above if I felt the desire to.

very nicely done. i know how hard it is to do big multicolor work like this. you made a bright beautiful ork poppa. one thing: why's the face on the banner so blurry? you do it on the computer or something? no need with something that simple.
